Just installed my new EVGA GTX 460 768mb DDR5 While playing I notice this glow around units flickered inconsistently throughout the game. This occurs randomly and playing protoss the glow around the command console flickers as well.

    Vid of the flicker issue

Someone else reported this issue with the same video card. Install the newest drivers from nVidia's website.

If that doesn't help, please read my FAQ and post your dxdiag dump.

Read that error again, it says you are trying to install a Windows XP 64 bit driver, make sure you are downloading the WIn7 64 bit version. I use EVGA GTX 470s, Win7, haven't seen the flicker issue, but I was able to install the driver on Win 7 64 bit w/o an issue, of course, you could be experiencing an odd issue on your computer, but just make sure you downloaded the right driver :D

I downloaded a different driver install from Nvidia, so far in my 2 other games the issue has gone away, so I think it was ann issue with EVGAs driver cd or latest update drivers that just wouldnt allow me to install

Yes I believe it was the drivers that came with the card, but it would not allow me to install the updates from Evga - i tried both the 32 and 64 bit installs even though my os is 64 bit.

    - Here is a reply from EVGA Support if neone else has similar probs and it is not the drivers.

Yeah, NEVER download drivers from the manufacture. Its best to get them directly from nVidia.

I had a bit of flickering during one of my games not nearly as much as before, wonder if it could be one of the other problems, it happens in some levels only, and i tried to replicate in single player with the computer and it did not happen.

Now that I can sit and really read this stuff....

Your problem is Windows XP x64. Vista/Win7 64-bit drivers will not work (although XP-64 drivers can be run on Vista and Win7 in compatibility mode). I recommend NOT using this OS for any kind of gaming. Vista64 and Win 7 64 are much better alternatives, and if you can upgrade to them, do so. XP x64 is really only for Professional use, and many @Home apps will simply refuse to install on it because it is considered an enterprise class OS.

If you insist sticking with it, these are the drivers you need.

I am installed on Windows 7 64-Bit, but for some reason when I install some drivers etc it says its incompatable, so i downloaded the ones from Nvidia. Now these drivers installed but I still get a bit of flicker in some levels. Another thing I notice is when I multi task to windows and back, the screen in game or menu goes pale yellow or odd colors and then after 5-10 sec, clears up. It most notably happens in a 6 player level blue kind of tileset with dual openings to the bases, forgot the name, I dont remember having this issue with other levels.

Post a new DX diag of your Windows 7 setup. I hope you didn't install those XP-64 bit drivers I posted above. XD They will install but the actual drivers would be better.

Yeah, that would be the same driver as Win7. Weird.

Uh, my bad, can you save the txt file (using the option at the bottom) and then attach it to a post please. ^^; If its too large to attach, zip/rar it. Also, can you please post a picture of what you have been talking about from StarCraft 2?

Here they are. Also yesturday during campaign I noticed that the starports in the level i was playing were tinted heavily with whatever color the team was, so my starports were like super blue, no other color, however my other buildings were fine.

I also tried turning off shadows as one person suggested that but it still flickers, and this is only in certain tilesets where it happens

A new thought, could try seeing if PhysX is enabled. Perhaps disabling it may help (if it is turned on). Open the Nvidia control panel by right clicking on the desktop and selecting it, then under "3D settings" is "Set PhysX Configuration" which allows you to disable it.

Maybe create a StarCraft II profile in the 3D settings and force on vsync and triple buffering, see what happens.

I could only figure that a BIOS setting of some kind may be to blame. But if your BIOS is set to all defaults, it should be okay. Find out what version of your BIOS you are running. It should be something like F3 or F4.. etc that is what versions look like in Gigabyte boards. You could only see it by watching your POST screen when you first turn on your computer, or by entering the BIOS.

It looks like changing the physx option to cpu has fixed the problem, although I do not know whether there is an issue where during some big battles im experienceing a bit of low fps game lag or whether it is other teamates computers.
