    Judging from this screenshot: http://vilegaming.com/screenshots.x/137

Will units be affected by being under water? I heard before that there will be some minor terrain impacts on units, such as snow slowing down units. Will units under water be able to fire still? Will they move slower? Will they have decreased line of sight?

I know that Blizzard wants to make the game more dynamic around the terrain and realistic, but I hope they don't go overboard and add too many things based on luck.

That's just an effect- Blizzard said that water will not affect units in speed or anything close to that.

In Warcraft III, terrain couldn't slow down units, presumably due to 3D pathfinding issues.

I figure the water is just really good-looking unbuildable terrain.

yeah, i don't think blizzard will make water break down tanks, etc. It's just great visuals.

However, the SC editor might have an option for you to do that :)

Water is purely for visuals, as has been pointed out here.

marines etc should not be able to cross on medium deep waters (in screenshot) but big units such as tanks shoul be able to this allow more uniqueness among units just like the colossus and reapers can pass through cliffs.

on the other hand, all units should be able to cross shallow waters.

I'd rather not restrict crossings to certain unit types. Too much to keep track of, and very arbitrary. I'd only favor it if it had some positive effect on gameplay. How would you explain that, lorewise? The unit can function perfectly fine in a vacuum, and in a rain of bullets, but not under eight feet of water?

    Ah that's what I thought

Looks arbiteresque, I liked the old name AND the old model.

    I like both

I'm getting less and less picky as the game gets closer to the final product.
They could have a rabbit robot and I could careless anymore for some reason.
