Was there ever bad guys?

I mean seriously, they all have different beliefs

The UED want to save Humanity

Emporer Mengst had (and still has) his own plans for saving Humanity

Zerg just want to kill everything

And the Protoss want to save their homeland

So.. who's the bad guy? I think Zerg would be the closest, but meh.

 

well seeing how the zergs one and only belief is to consume all other life I think they fit the antagonist role very well

 

I think I read somewhere that they had to feed relentlessly in order to live. But that could be from something else.. I was never really a Zerg fan.

 

The Zerg overall is not the Antagonist, Kerrigan herself fits the description better
The confederacy was definitely the bad guys
Apart from that maybe Samir Duran?

 

Blizzard always make you feel for the race you are playing for, so there is no bad guy. They always make you care for the current race you are playing that's why I lvoe the campaign so much because you care about the cause! Even if you were playing against the cause just in the last mission hehe

Actually, key point here.

Not consume. Assimilate. And if you think about it, if they absorbed every race into there own, that would bring universal peace.

 

Yeah... suppose so... it's a tough call though when the other races are forced into it... they wouldn't want that, universal peace or not (which I guess is why they're fighting but blah)..

The UED want to control the zerg swarms

Emporer Mengsk wants to rule all humanity

Zerg just want to kill/consume everything

And the Protoss want to destroy the Zerg/humanity

So really its more like real life and not completely black and white. But I still think the zerg are the "bad guys"

 

OMG you're off on the last two.

The Zerg want to assimilate everything to create the perfect Swarm. They couldn't do that if they killed everything, now could they?

And the Protoss don't want to destroy humanity. How'd you get that idea?


I'd say the Xel'Naga are the true bad guys, for playing God.

UED wants to rule Koprulu & save humanity by control over the Zerg
Mengsk wants to rule Koprulu &...thats why also save humanity
Zerg wants to assimilate or erradicate all other lifeforms
Protoss wants to save there asses from fire (they dont interest in saving humanity)

 

The zerg don't assimilate everything, just what they think might benefit the swarm. The game has you killing and destroying your enemies not capturing and assimilating them now does it?

And the protoss aren't allied with humanity and have no qualms killing any humans between them and the zerg.

UED just wants to conquer (not save) the koprulu sector and control the zerg to help achieve/cement their victory.

Mengsk doesn't really care about humanity he said so himself that he would rule or see it burnt to ashed around him

Protoss are at war with the Zerg and don't really care if humanity is caught in the crossfire.

When i said that they want to save Koprulu? I said that they want to RULE it. I said also they want to save humanity by capturing Zerg, cuz they are a direct threath for the UED itself.

Mengsk care about humanity, cuz if it fall than it wont be anybody to being ruled. Thats why he (de facto) wants to save humankind.

The UED just wanted to contol the zerg to use as another weapon against any who would oppose them (humans included) and would be just a cruel as Mengsk or the Confeds.

Mengsk only cares on the most basic level (that there be a humanity for him to rule) but he really doesn't care about the actual people, only himself. He sacrificed countless people/worlds for his own gain. Everyone and everything is just a tool for him to use and sacrifice so he can keep/gain power. He may be humanities last hope for survival but he is an immoral monster.

Anyway whatever I'm tired and its just a game.

I'd say the only "bad guy" would be Sarah Kerrigan. Not because she's Zerg, but because she tricked a lot of people and deceived a lot of people - to their deaths.
