Pardon me for being the first critic :-\. I really don't know what you were going for with most of these, but most of these featured some fairly annoying stuff, and all of them lacked any strong sense of building and climax- any internal variation at all. I apologize for my inability to describe what I am hearing in any particularly detailed way.

Deeper Than Expected- I liked the slow stuff in the intro, you could have slowly built into the fast percussion instead of just hitting the listener with it. This piece has more internal variation than the others, but it is a bit slow-paced.

Les Reves- The (intentionally, I imagine) low quality rhythm stuff really killed it for me. I have a high tolerance for noise: I often listen to medium-low quality MIDIs of video game music, and some MIDI drums are literally tunable noise, but seriously, my ears!

Lol, ok- I liked the first 20 seconds, but the rest was basically the first 20 seconds repeated over and over again with occasional seizure-like spasming thrown in.

L'ile de Java- I liked this one. Again, I don't feel it went much farther than where it started, but I liked where it started, so I'm fine with that.

Mr. Penis- Ok, again, you didn't anything but warp things around here and there. Didn't go anywhere. At any rate, the pace wasn't as painfully slow as a couple of the others. It has casual smoothness going for it.

Ca Donne Craquette/Ca Donne Toujours Craquette- Apart from some of the weird mixing stuff you do, this one is pretty good. It has a smooth pace and isn't as repetitive. Quite a lot of it is still repetition of the first 25 seconds though...

thanks a lot for reviewing.. even if's it's not your genre at all.. that's the kind of review i need the most.. not that I want to be popular and stuff but.. I'm so used to these genre (that pretty much no one knows) that it's hard to compare my own stuff to the music people are used to.

    thanks.

yes, a slowly built percussion would have been a good idea.. however i wasnt going for some vangelis or dark enya track (LOL) this is some ambient experimental breakbeat.. this is why the drum is both gabber and drum and bass... the main flaw of this track in my opinion is that the drum break is too high pitched and sounds like crap... however i still like it because it's sliced in an unique way. About the variation (that applies to pretty much all my tracks) due to the genre.. that's why theres pretty much no melody at all.. everything is in the drum.. and bass sounds.

yup.. intentionally.. of course.. but I wouldn't say "low quality" i would say "too much distortion".. we are beyong the limits of "quality" my snare sounds like pure noise. I do agree.. that hurts a lot.. that was the point.. it goes with the super over-delayed vocals and the almost atonal and redondant pseudo-melody.

Lol, ok is pure crap.. and what you described is pretty much what I did (but i would replace the word occasional by something else, I abused of the retriggering effect (for learning purposes)).. as you already guessed, I'm not doing melodic stuff. oh i have a question.. since the song is 1m50s long and the same 20s repeats all the time.. [sarcasm] how is it bad? [/sarcasm] every popular songs does it! (and this is very true..)

yup.. repetitive again.. I'm not too proud of the vocals i used and the way i used them.. I also dislike the weird bass I used.. however I like the distorted drum and the pad...

there's a very huge retriggering mistake in the song.. that f**ks up the whole beat at some point.. this is an old song so I just won't fix it.. I hope no one notices it :)

I think what mr. penis has over the others you stated before it is, good transitions.. however it's much too long.. and yes, it's all about warping.. btw, I used the amen break in this one.. I think i did a good job using the most overused break of all time.. I used it to hear what I could do with it and I think it's pretty unique.

ca donne craquette was actualy made in 1 hour.. then i made the ca donne toujours craquette, as a finished version of it..

overall, I do agree that my stuff is pretty much the same 20 seconds, looped with weird stuff applied on it.. and that's probably how my music qualifies as experimental since i'm actualy experimenting stuff on it.. that's how I learn... another point, If I overuse some effects.. (retrigger, stretch, slicing, etc) it's for the same reason, I'm learning how to use these... If i ever do serious stuff, I'll stop overusing the same stuff over and over again.. instead, I'll use the effect wisely.

thanks a lot for reviewing/commenting, that deserves a power up.

I added a new song btw..

it's called Poney Part 1 (remix)

    it's a remix of Vitalic's tune (Poney Part 1) (d'uhh!!)

i didn't like the drum in his tune.. so I remixed the whole thing.

I've added a new song to my virb profile:

    http://www.virb.com/jbl

It's called Architecture, the vocals are done by Amy, she's on my virb profile too.

I also removed a few old and crappy songs.

    btw, this is a bump.

Feel free to comment (here or there) my stuff I need people's opinion.. even if it's not your kind of music..

having external comments really help me.
