Walking in Shadows

recent picture I worked on, shows all 7 eevee forms, using opacity, gause blur, and brightness/contrast. I would like to use it as my sig, but I feel that my current espeon one looks better.

Rate and comment about what I could do better at and improve on.

 

I'd just like to say that it is far more interesting than your current sig, so I would replace the old one with that one.

 

you think so? I liked the current one I have cuz it looks like its trying to stare down anyone who looks at it and I like how I got the eyes to glow like that(still haven't been able to replicate it).

the new one I like due to it having all 7, but its feels like a bit much and possibly distracting.

 

I'm with GMG. All seven look more interesting than one. Especially if you can manage to replicate the focused eyes for each. Other than that, perhaps make the second, forth, and maybe the third, to have a higher level of neonesque contrast, like the others, especially the third and last.

With your current ones, the wings look a bit odd, perspective-wise. Being so much lighter and brighter, they come forwards more than the foreground of its face, when it's really supposed to be in the middleground.

And what happened to Eevee?! It's the only one I know from that group, I think.

 

the angel one is one I just created, was experimenting around with it, was trying to get the wings to stand out.


EDIT: the issue I have with all 7 is that it just feels too crowded if I put it in my sig, but I cant space them out any farther apart since it's already at the max horizontal limit on forum sigs.

Nah, I don't reckon it'd be too crowded. I mean, it may be crowded, but it wouldn't look overly busy. A couple of your previous sigs would have been more busy that that.

Oh, and awesome eyes on Bluey in the top-right.

 

It appears to me that they get too vibrate-y as the size gets "bigger". Like, the last one in that post 2 above looks like its trying to blur off the page, and I can't focus too well on it. I definitely dont feel it is crowded to me, but it is your call.

 

They look really good imo. The blur/transparancy works extremely well with the dark gray background. Also, the accents on them (Like Umbreon's [?] rings and the ice one's...ice...things) are gorgeous with the way they pop.

However, Jolteon and the leaf one are a tad too blurry if you ask me.

 

I like the top right in #6. Just don't make the eyes too prominent... select their border and gaussian blur them - that way they will blend with the blurred body and retain their sharpness towards the centre, and won't look as if they'd been glued onto them.

 

I thought that looked good. It's much more distinct and makes them look more penetrating than they otherwise would. If the edges were blurred, I reckon it'd lose the whole focused effect, because the centre of the eyes aren't really distinct.

Feel free to prove me wrong though.

 

cleaned them up a bit, the large blur made them look to unfocused and I made the opacity 100 instead of 75. Did a smaller glow radius, though I think I'll make the rings on Umbreon glow more

It's hard to just use a description-eon like the rest so the guy was like 'um... ummm... eon?' and it grew from there?

flareon: flare(fire)
vaporeon: vapor(water)
jolteon: jolt refers to electricity
espeon: ESP(Extra Sensory Perception)
leafeon: leaf -> nature -> grass
glaceon: glacier -> ice

Eon: eevee's original name, changed before game release, since then added to the end of each evolution it has. So basically:
flareon = fire eevee
vaporeon = water eevee
etc.
