I don't know if you noticed something, but the voices and sounds in Starcraft 2 are the same than those in Starcraft.

I know nothing is complete and that they will be changed. Ther new sounds of the Marine when he dies are really ugly.

I noticed that the units of each race had limited expressions and sounds

    The marine says :

you wanna piece of me boy ; rock'n roll ; go go go ; 'two kinds of sounds when he dies' ; etc ...

I would like Blizzard to make like 20-25 sounds for each unit. We will have to use powerful computers of Starcraft 2, so if we could get more sounds it will be funny. The computer will not suffer with additional sounds.

Maybe a program can automatically and randomly modify them. There could be 3 ways of saying "go go go" for instance.

Another example : if a nuke hit the ground there should be different sounds .... it seems in the gameplay cinematic that the three nukes at the end of this got three different sounds once they hit the ground.
There should be the same thing with the voices.

What about when you annoy your units? For example, annoying the Ghost enough would make him say "Keep it up, I dare ya" and "I'm about to blow one of my aggression inhibitors" That adds another 3 or so sounds to each unit.

Anyways, I'm fairly neutral on the subject. Though having that many sounds would be kinda nice for Terrans, because IMO all returning units should have their SC1 quotes (re-voiced, of course). That way, you'd still have the classic quotes without it getting repetitive and making one feel like this is Starcraft in 3D.

And they better ****ing add "Hey, who spiked the egg nog?" to the Marine's sound list.

I really don't see this as a problem. This is the least of our worries ATM. Some of the voices aren't that great and some lines are just downright cheesy, but voiceovers can be changed relatively quickly. A significant number of quotes are probably placeholders anyways, since units are still being axed and created.

Hmm, i cant really imagine the different ways of saying "Go Go Go" o_O

I actually have no problem if they keep the voice and sounds the same. I reckon that if they did that, the players would
feel right at home with the Starcraft atmosphere and the originality of SC1.
If each unit had about 25 different voices and sounds, the voices that are classical and easily identifiable to that particular unit are harder to pick out. Personally i would find it weird to be listening to a string of more than anout 7 phrases while using a unit. Unless im annoying them :D

Though i must agree with the marine death sound, it is terrible...

    I'm all for new voices.

As good and fun the old ones were, new would be a fresh acceptable change.

But if they kept the same ones for old units and gave new units their own voices, that's fine as well.

Although I'm sure Blizzard will give new voices to old units.

I agree with Wick. This is the last thing on my list of concerns at the moment.

I would be very unhappy if they kept the old sound files from the original

But that's not the case - new and old units have new sounds. And I think you'll all be happy to know that they have new sounds for when you continually click on a unit.
