Visitor Messages

Have you left some messages in people's profiles already?

You don't know what I'm talking about? Well, just click on a profile name to go to the profile of that member and leave a message in the box. It's as simple as that!

Please don't spam! (or do, if your name is ijffdrie and/or Lenga)

It seems that you first have to "approve" a message that someone left before it is shown to everyone, but when you select a message, choose the "approve" option and click on the "go" button, you get an error message that says something like "no messages were selected".

Another error, or am I doing something wrong? I guess it's the first one, which means that the function is probably not completed yet and a mod should probably look into it before it causes some kind of serious error. :O

I tried to delete message and there's only option to "soft delete" which leaves ugly info in my profile, can we get "hard delete" option too?

There's also an error saying that you can't do that and should contact admin but the message got deleted anyway

 

Obviously, it seems to be an error, since there also seem to be other problems now.
I will send the admin a PM about this.

 

It's pretty fun, except that BoP is annoying, he is vandalizing all of our profiles... He talked about my comment virginity and

@DT_L: you can report visitor messages you don't like. In fact, you are encouraged to do so.

At first I thought these games were fun but I'm starting to see visitor messages as spam land with a twist.

 

Which proves that SJ is not just some "junk", but an integral part of the community ;p

I'm gonna try and do something about mine soon (Not that it'd be different from just making a topic somewhere)

 

I find them fine for now until we get chat back.

 

I like them they should stay.

Rofl, that's exactly what they are becoming at the moment, but we can always clean them up once in a while when the admin finds out how to get those delete/approve functions working.

Anyway, they are a lot of fun, but won't they cause a lot of stress on the server? They are all some sort of mini-boards, 2000 mini-boards. I might be wrong, but you can't be sure before asking something, can you?

Oh well, I just hope that they are here to stay, even when we get back the chat, especially since I often don't have enough time to visit the chat.
(Leaving after two minutes every time you are on the chat is lame; you just can't have a decent conversation in such a short amount of time.)
