The other Unreal Tournament thread was just a general discussion one. I started this one to collect everyone from this site who plays or have played the game and would like to get back into it. I would like to collect people for smaller team games, primarily for CTF, DD, and BR, but of course other modes as well, if we feel like it. What I can provide: - listen server in Hungary (in GMT+2 timezone) on a 1mbit line - I may also be able to get anything between 1 to 5 players to join us occasionally If you're interested, please make sure your game is version 3323 (not necessarily authentic, more on that via PM). If you have a default or older version, you can get the patch for Windows here. That's about it. Hope to see some people interested in gibbing!
I'm thinking of buying it for 15$ off steam. Is it worth it or is UT3 better value at 30$? Even though reviews of it are fairly negative.
It depends on your system and your preference. The requirements for the two are miles apart, and I'm not sure if it's worth it. I've played UT3, though only for 2 DM rounds, and I was not impressed (graphics were maxed) because, although the jumpy nature is gone, it seemed to really really want to über the previous game with just way too much detail on the models and textures. For a pump action game there is absolutely no need for that level of detail simply because you won't notice it. If you do, then you're not good enough I'm considering buying UT2004 as well but from what I've seen, the community is rather hostile and you can only find DM and CTF games with 94 mods installed that you have to download before joining and blah blah... Although for the price it is on sale for, it might just be worth a try.
I bought the entire Unreal packages for $50, because I figured I'd love em, since I played Unreal/Tournament and loved them both
I've had the game since it was released way back and have much fun with it since then but alas I have moved on to bigger and better things, namely Unreal Tournament 3.
