Barring Terran specific upgrades, the only upgrades that affect defensive structures are those of plasma shields. Why exactly is this the case? Now obviously it'd make sense, the question is whether it'd cause balance issues. And seeing as how I created this thread, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I see none My proposition: Terran: vehicle upgrades affect missile turrets. But I'm not sure about this. Protoss: ground weapons and plasma shields affect cannons. Zerg: ground carapace and weapons affect spines (melee) and spores (missile). The above is no bias towards my precious race it is purely on the fact that the defensive structures are seperate creatures as they can move about. Obviously it'd mean that they'd start with 0 armour. Furthermore, I don't see why workers shouldn't get weapon upgrades if they already get armour upgrades - it would just make all-in moves more viable. And who doesn't like to watch/play insane games where the player on the back foot turns the tables? I'd like to discuss specific cases of imbalance if these were implemented and also to discuss new ideas/additions. So like, everyfin.
