I have Starcraft II on Mac OS. I've played both the trial (sent by a friend) and the full game (bought later), and have encountered the same problem. I'll attempt to create a game for a friend and I, and usually it will work. However, sometimes I go to create a game and this is the screen I get: Uploaded with ImageShack.us It will hang there for at least five minutes (the longest I've let it go), as opposed to the almost instant lobby that pops up when it is functioning properly. Now, it appears to be timing out. This has a tendency to happen about this time of night, but it has happened at other times. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Upon exiting this screen, I now see this. Note that "Find Game" is grayed out. Going to the Create Game tab, I find that the Create Game button is grayed out as well. This forces me to restart the game to regain this functionality, 9 times out of 10 to get the same problem. Again, it seems like the connection is timing out. My friends seem to want to chalk it up to "Mac AIDS," but I have my doubts that Blizzard would release such a dysfunctional port if that were to truly be the case. I've searched around, and can't seem to find anybody with this problem (maybe I'm not looking in the right places -- the game gives me no feedback about the problem, no error messages, etc. etc. etc.). I have checked my university's firewall, and the ports required for the game are open -- again, I am usually able to play. Does anybody have a solution?
Please edit your post to include full sized screencaps(They are only thumbnails), then upload to a non-crap website like tinypic.com. Also upload them as JPEGS since not everyone (meaning ME) has high speed internet. :/ So, your same friends at your university are not having difficulty playing? If that is the case, are you using a router? If so, what is the make and model? If you are not using a router, check your Mac firewall settings. That's where we'll start. If you have any security software installed, please let me know what it is so I can look up additional information.
My friends at the university are not having these issues with Starcraft, nor are they having them with other battle.net games that they play. For me, this problem occurs on and off. Sometimes the game functions fine, and sometimes it does not. As far as I know, I am not behind a router. I ran through Blizzard's tech support, and found no information on a problem like this (Mac Firewall is off), and there are no additional security features. Images: [image expired]
Well, prior to what Apple would want you to believe, a virus is always a possibility. Mac's are the largest growing targets for viruses. Another possibility that I have seen happen on PC's and XBox are faulty DNS settings in the TCP/IP configuration. If you have a static IP, double check your DNS settings. If you have automatic IP configuration, then find out what the DNS server settings are and manually set them. Instructions on checking your TCP/IP settings can be found here. There could always be some kind of issue with your Mac's NIC card too.
check you firewall settings, maybe just disable it or change for mac i would recommend NetMine, it usually dont stop unharmfull processes ([link deleted]) good luck
