UaW is an RTS game currently being developed by Petroglyph, the same guys that made the Star Wars: Empire at War (?) game. I didn't really like EaW, but UaW seems to be a very promising game, with some of the same characteristics that made SC such a great game: diverse races, a good (so far) storyline, and a wealth of tactical options (seems like it). Search it on google, and check out some of the stuff for it, as well as the things on IGN. It seems to me it could be one of the best RTS's to be released this year, along with the CoH expansion and possibly but very unlikely SC2.

Good trailer, too bad Humans aren't playable, they look the coolest except for the machine race.

Also, the heroes for the machine race (in the white) seem to take a lot of influence from Zone of the Enders

Personally, I am a bit wary of petroglyph because of what was said about Empire at War, and then the end product being vastly different than what we were told. But more than likely it was Lucasarts screwing the whole damn things up.

But, from what I've seen from this, i hope their next installment goes much much better ^^

What is up with the new strats and tripods! This game, c and c 3, and even sc2 have some form of a giant walking mech that shoots lazers that drag along the ground.

    Anyway it looks good.

It's out on October 9th, so I guess it's almost done. The beta should start up pretty soon.

Eh...I just can't get too excited over this game really. Don't get me wrong, it looks pretty good, but at the same time, I can just see so many things go wrong with it.

On the link above, I was looking through it, and does the Novas' (or whatever they're called) computerized connection thing seem too much like Pylon power? And the Hierarchy walker thing just seems like it'll annoy me...they are soooooooooo slow.

It seems like a descent game, but not one that'd entertain me for a long time. I'm personally waiting impatiently for World in Conflict...that imo will be the best RTS out this year. It's got originality in its gameplay with the reinforcement system, the multiplayer is fun when i played beta for a day, and who doesn't love a US vs USSR matchup? :p

Actually the Walker things looked quite fast to me, atleast compared to other huge ass units in other games, perhaps the maps are just small though.

Can't wait to try the Masari race, they seemed to get all the creativity in them..

    No that  is the Novus.

    Heirearchy is the giant walkers
    Novus is the computer ones
    Masari have two modes.

I sahould also mention Petroglyph was founded by many of the members of Westwood the guys behind Dune 2 and C&C.

Wow just wow, they really took the unique races 1 level up:

Apparently all races gather different resources in different manners but still sc2 is at the top of my list with this in a close second.

Also: bird of prey is on the Uaw forums?

The only real problem I have with this game are the heroes. It looks as if the heroes will be something you absolutely have to have. It's not that I don't like the idea, it just doesn't appeal much to me.
