unable to play after mac graphic update.

so after i updated my mac OS, i've been having problems trying to start the game.
After i key in my battlenet account and click connect, the game screen goes dark and then promptly closes. is anyone having the same issue? or is it just me.

 

Are you using an nVidia or ATI card on your Mac? If its nVidia, try reading my FAQ and read the question marked "ALL NVIDIA USERS TAKE NOTE" and apply those fixes and download the Mac utilities to monitor your fan and temps.

 

I'm using nVidia, i don't think it's the graphic card problem. Because it was fine until the mac OS update. Plus i tried your fix, didn't work.

 

I checked my launcher log, it says that it failed to recieve login information from battle.net.

 

Er...perhaps this forum needs a special mac section for questions like this?

I have no idea because I'm a PC user.

For me computer games actually work.

 

Amberlamps: Trust me, I have already brought up a topic to the site admins on revamping the tech support forum. That was one of the suggestions. Just waiting for response on my proposal.

So, the game is starting, but you can't log into battle.net? Another user reported checking their firewall settings and having to set StarCraft 2 from block to unblock (McAfee). Its possible if your using a 3rd party firewall on your Mac, that you may need to adjust your firewall setting or update its white list.

 

i can get to the starting screen, but the moment i key in my account email and hit enter, the screen goes black and quits shortly after. I'm not using any third party firewall at the moment.

Okay, got my Mac buddy giving me some help. First we'll want you to post your error log. Navigate to /Applications/Starcraft II/logs and see if there is an error log there. Post that log file.

Also, what update did you apply? The 1.0.3 game update, or a Mac system update? Tell us about the update you applied.

*edit* My buddy see's the new Graphics Update for Snow Leopard. He's trying it to see if he has the same problem as you. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4286 <-- is this the update?

 

uhm, i checked. i only have a launcher log. the update i applied was the snow leopard graphics update.

StarCraft 2 worked fine before 1.0.3? You were able to log into battle.net before hand? Looks like the real problem has been going on much longer. Are you behind a router or directly plugged into the net?

 

it was fine even after i did the 1.0.3 update. only after the mac snow leopard graphic update.
i'm using wifi... so... router?

 

Read my FAQ and try port forwarding on your router. Its the easiest thing to try. There is a website linked in that section that will explain how to do it for your router if you've never done it before.
