UED the new race in starcraft 2..expansion.

Q: Why did the UED have the same technology as the banished Terran prisoners?

wow, so do you think we will see the UED gundams and UED Ultimate Battleships etc. in starcraft 2 campaign?

that would be nice and make sense. UED should have the bigger high tech weapons. mengsk will wet his pants on the return of the UED with battleships 3 times the size of his battlecruisers. anyway i though it was a lame excuse(the lore or history about it), that the UED stolen those ships they have and use it to attack mengsk etc. anyway im pro about it, just for the fact that UED have different arsenals and weapons. ^^

hhmmm. im going to make a thread about the possible UED units. in starcraft 2 expansion "Guns of the UED" will have 5 races. count on it. the new races?

at the end of starcraft 2 we will see the return of the UED.. their full force is with them this time around.

anyway terran should differ from the UED in terms of units and play style. im thinking UED to be like protoss too, few but STRONG expensive units. and UED should have the best air fleet aside from the protoss.

 

i wouldnt expect the differences to be that great, they will probably just have battlecruisers with an extra 200hp. i want to see them arrive with more valkeries rofl

 

yah any unit you can imagine for the UED. yes this is the greatest dicovery ever! UED the new race in starcraft expansion.. uhm starcraft 3. lol. count the xelnaga in too.

anyway i just think two human faction as a race is AWESOME.

or maybe the UED will be the new terran in the future. as mensgk and his goons will be extinct. wait valerian...

Actually in some situations I can see the UED and earth having LESS of a technological edge than the rag tag people here. Why? War tends to spur technological advances. In WW2, for instance, the Axis were inspired to develop jet engines on their aircraft towards their end to try to halt the Allies advances. The Allies, for example, developed atomic energy and splitting of the atom. Both of these technologies are in use today and in Starcraft's future! It was stated in Einstein's journals he might not have revealed the physics behind the atomic era if there was not a "need" for it.

Some people may argue that war does not spur our imagination - this is a theory which I look at and believe that inspiration is born of necessity. If there is no need to develop a super uber weapon then it probably would not have been built. The UED and earth has no Zerg or Protoss invasion force as of yet. However, the idea of the Zerg or the Protoss may eventually "stir" the UED and EARTH into a war mode of thinking, though. However, it is possible that the UED's Battleships did not posses the Yamato cannon or were few in numbers because the UED force or earth never needed to have such a powerful weapon to use.

 

what is more significant though is that the terrans in kropula started out with no industry or scientific machines. also the terrans on earth have been exterminating themselves, so they would have developed lots of nasty weapons

 

well, seeing boyofzinj's post i thought it would be cool if the UED had like... firebats, vultures... wraiths... goliaths... etc.

 

I hope you guys realize that Terrans = multiple planets, while UED, well thats just Earth, i really doubt they will be more advanced than the terrans.

Did they even know that protoss and Zerg exist? Any other races out there btw?

 

hahah. but your wrong. blizzard has said it. read my first post. UED's mega weapon and units not the STOLEN stuffs from the terran, were left home.

im sure UED owns mars venus, and all planets up too pluto, lol and believe me they are just waiting fot the aliens to come in. ^^

and ofcourse they now about the zerg and protoss. they are just enjoyin seeing the Dominion battle these aliens. dugale and stukov was like only 20 percent of what UED really can offer. ^^

 

It was actually stated before that the UED also has control of the nearby planets, so they have those on there too and quite possibly even some in another solar system.

I actually wondered this a while ago...Earth better have some kickass looking fighter planes though and who's gonna be driving the planes? The Germans. Why? Because when fighter pilots say their technical crap in German, it sounds soooo cool

 

Besides, the UED DOES have its own weapons: Valkyries and medics. Thats why you dont see them in mengsk army while you play the campaigns.

 

I will agree the UED should have multiple colonies and planets. At the very least Earth and a few moons around Jupitor and Saturn such as the famed IO moon. As for other sectors, who knows....

This is true. However, the medic is a medical advancement. I am betting overpopulation and environmental damage is a major concern on Earth so... they made a medic to help heal the troops and made them all chicks... to help the troops releave stress?

As for if they knew about the zerg or not... the original Broodwar intro had the UED forces talking about their examinations of the Zerg. Somehow they seemed to have known and their entire goal was to become the Terran Leadership and to capture the Overmind to make the Zerg do what ever experiments they had. The UED seemed to know ALLOT about the Starcraft Universe - how? Is there some sort of communication being sent to them? The journey from the Kropula to Earth (or vice versa) seem to take along time (which is why they are put in cyrostasis). But, what is a long time... months, a year, multiple years, a decade? The Zerg appears about 1 - 2 years before the intro of Broodwar. So I would imagine that the journey from Earth to kropula sector is about a year or less. Just a theory. Communication can be faster and probably is a 3 or less month time frame.

For instance, in Januarary you send a message from the kropula sector to earth stating, "HAPPY NEW YEARS!"

When the message is read by earth they respond, "New Years? Its March you hillbillie!"

The message is reached and read in kropula sector and their response is, "You are the inbred fool! We are about to celebrate the 4th of July soon - March.. pffft!"

Earth finally just responds back, "...."

 

I think it would be great for the UED to return in the expansion with real UED weapons. And then start pacifying s**t.

 

As far as I know the UED has no clue of the xelnaga, so maybe they will come to pacify shit, just to find out their asses are about to be kicked just once more.

 

no, i´d like to see a new race, my perfect choice would be the xel-naga, if not, obviously the hybrids, but a new terran? nah, just to simply, they are just and add on from the terran nothing new, just different units AND maybeeee ol´little Duran could bring a new super race to kick some ass, id like that also and if there should be a new units for terrans what id love the most would be some kind of gundam, like robotech/macross, very cool, or at least that they redisgned the viking, i like the concept but its just to lame, no aerodinamics or beauty (if you know what i mean).

 

Meh I thought the UED was simply a clumsy delivery device for the new units in the expansion pack. It makes no sense that they would have almost exactly the same tech or that they would leave all their cool toys at home. It was a major plot hole that they are trying to plug up as best they can.

Personally I wouldn't miss them if they never returned. But if they do return I hope blizzard won't make the same mistake and make them distinct this time.

 

yah they should be different. i just hope that blizzard puts extra and not be lazy to create UED DIFFERENT UNIT and WEAPONS. maybe some glimpse here and there in starcraft 2 campaign, 1 to 3 units is fair enough. just an appetite for the new race in starcraft 2 expansion. lol

anyone else like them (UED) to be a new race in starcraft 2 expansion aside from the xelnaga?.. 5 races in starcraft now thats a lot. i think xelnaga's unit will mostly compose of hybrids. cause you know what, if they are planning to make an expansion with only 3 races returning, i think i will be somehow bored. so blizzard should start developing the UED and Xelnaga after they finished starcraft 2. the expansion should be released by 2010.
