    1) How do I set up a 2v1 match? (I mainly mean for me vs two computer AI bots)
    2) Can I check the layout of a map before playing on it? The first time I play a map I need to send a bunch of marines everywhere to figure out where everything is or could be and I wish I could just explore the map like in a map editor, but I don't know how to edit a map, so...

    1) Go to create a custom game and select a 2v2 map then add 2 AI's to the opposing team.

    2) There is no map editor currently available at this time it will eventually be released by blizzard for us to test. In the mean time try looking at the map layout it shows you before joining the game if you can find the opposite mineral location to you chances are thats where they might be as maps are mirrored, you still might want to scout around a bit with a builder before sending your force off.

    Hope this helps!

And even so, there is only Very Easy AI for now, so you can scout with your workers if you want and they will be safe, lol.

For the Beta no, they won't. It is intentional, as they want you to play online, not against AI. ;-)

You can see the entire map layout through the fog of war in starcraft 2 anyways.

Well this is in the SC original forum, so I am talking about SC original. I figured there would be some easier way then playing a match or having to find and DL a map editor, (they existed years ago, why would they not work today?) to see the whole map.

Seradin's advice is golden! Simply find any 3+ Player map and choose the Top vs. Bottom game option and set two slots on the opposing side to Computer players!

You do not need to download any map editor if you just want to take a look at a map. You can use the StarCraft Campaign Editor (it comes with StarCraft) to view maps -- that is if they are not protected -- and edit them to your liking.

lol at the people who thought this was SC2 talk :).

And at the original poster - the editor that comes with the game itself is pretty good. And you can mod many things with it or just look at random maps if you wish. But this editor is Windows/OS 9 (native or an emulared version through classic or COI). Blizzard never uodated it to work natively on OS X.

StarCraft comes with a map editor. It's called StarEdit. When you load up the game, and have the choice to pick single or multiplayer, click the planet on the right. That'll take you to the editor.

Also for 1v2. Just play a map, set two computer oppenents, and play it as a melee game. The comps with auto-ally against you.
