Twilight Archon

Seriously? Why did they have to add the 'twilight' part? It's gonna be speculating but do you guys think it has something new or is the name just a stupid gimmick?

I thought it was you who said it, but....

Twilight is the time between Day and Night, Light and Dark....AKA, the High and Dark Templars. And it sounds better than Dawn Archon.



Actually, that don't sound half bad, but Twilight fits better.

Yeah, I just read that on another topic, excellent observation. So if thats true, dark templar is gonna be back as a unit ;D

I think is "Twilight Archon" now because the new homeworld Shakuras land skape is named twilight. i think is a better name than simple archon

The old Archon would have called Jungle Archon ( ) then, I don't think thats any good excuse to call it the twilight Archon unless Shakuras psi field has something that gives it some new power?

And better? Simplicity still rocks man, Archon was cool.

 

Twilight Archon unit merger...

Hey guys, I was just thinking about the Twilight archon. Is it a replacement of the Dark Archon, with two DT merging to form one, or is the Twilight Archon the product of a merger between a High Templar and a Dark Templar. Any educated speculation about the abilities of the Twilight Archon? By the looks of the vid, they at least have an attack similar to the regular Archon.

i strongly believe it's a mix between dark templar and high templar. it does not replace the dark archon, but i think it would be much more useful than normal archon. but, from the vids, twilight archon is not as strong

I am hoping that it has a spell like a "psionic emp" the idea being that it would drain MP from all units hit by the storm and do damage to each respective unit based on a percentage of the units MP. Like an area Feedback, except it doesn't do the full MP amount to each unit. For example this would be highly effective against some that clusters all their spell casters together.

HP = Hit points. The spell would damage each unit hit by the psionic emp-like spell by a percentage of the magic points that were removed. Say a battlecruiser was hit, and it lost 250 mp, and the Psionic-emp-Feedback would also do say 50% damage, so the BC would take 125 damage points.

Heh that would be weird if it was a mix of dark and high templar. And on top of that there were no dark archons or archons, just these hybrid-archons.

How about this? The Twilight Archon is a vastly more powerful Archon that is created by combining an Archon with a Dark Archon...

Its probbaly A new version of the Archon not the Dark one because blizzard has'nt finished =)

From the history point of view, probably Protoss and Dark Protoss still doesn't really trust one another, so they decided that if such powerful beings as Archons would be created (history-wise, Archons were supposed to be uber-powerful), they should contains souls of "Light" and Dark Templar - they can't really afford another homewar right now, and Light/Dark Archons probably wouldn't pick any side in in-Protoss conflict happened.

i wouldnt say the twilight archon is weaker than a normal archon becuase in the video there were about 30-40 marines focus firing on the archons lol, how strong do u want it to be

the normal archon would be killed be a group of 12 - 15 marines, and here we have a little more so this new archon could be as strong as the old "light" one, wyth some kind of spells

yea i think the attack will be weaker but along with that it has spells (light and dark).

I think twilight archon is a decent name cause it has to differentiate from an archon and a dark archon. i mean we can't piss off the dark templars for naming it archon cause they contribute half of it.

add up all the hp of the 3 archons and their damage = the new twilight archon. this is my speculation, and its not useless. hey its possible. if im correct then your nothing but a ......................... ;D
