Basically, I've been attempting to create a survival sort of map in StarCraft, and without wanting to have to manually trigger waves, thought it would be best to simply start against four comps. The problem is that despite setting all the computer players to Insane, where they're supposed to not assume that they don't start with a fully functional base, etc, several of them simply have not been working. I've tested it a couple of times, both single player and multiplayer. They all worked in single player, but when playing multiplayer only one of the Protoss did. Just to clarify, when I say they didn't work, I mean, they sit there mining with their four starting workers, not producing any more, not building, not expanding, not doing anything. I've attached the map so you can see what I've done. I wasn't aware that anything actually had to be done other than always setting the AI to Expansion Campaign Racial Insane, so any help as to how I should get it working would be greatly appreciated.
If it comes to the worst, set them to Melee. Try using some triggers so that they will know exactly what to do. Maybe... Mineral Placement? If any is too close to Nexus/CC/Hatchery, i've seen AI be not working before.
give me a while, ill check this out EDIT: its not mineral placement, all i can see is 50% of the time, 2 AIs will work... its not terrain issue either... researching some moar, worse comes to worse, i call imagine EDIT2: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF.... ima go play DDR, thatll make my head work
Easy fix Itza. Simply click on the Scenario button on the menu and then click on Forces. On the computer player side or Force 2, uncheck Random Start Location and click OK. Save the map and you should be golden. What was happening was the game was assigning random start locations to each computer player, this meant it was a hit or miss with the Computer Player actually being the race the assigned AI Script was meant for.
Ahhhhhhh, gotcha. Haven't tested it yet, though I'm sure that'll solve it. If you ever need help with a map in future, my inferior map-making skills are at your disposal.
