Transformers the Movie

I'm a huge fan of Transformers generation 1, that series totally rocked. But after that I saw the whole transformers universe got raped over and over again by childish (almost pokémon like) reincarnations of the transformer series. Yesterday the movie (real life one, not the 1986 cartoon one) premiered and soon we will all get the chance to see it, but I'm soooo afraid it's gonna be bad, REAL BAD. The pictures and action sequences like so promising, but in my heart I know its gonna suck. Opinions?

 

It damn well better be awesome!!! I say its gonna be, the one thing that somewhat dissapointed me is that they not gonna put Soundwave in this one...they don't want to do the whole changing size while transforming thing cuz they don't want to take out any sense of realism to it....so they savin Soundwave for the sequel! ;D

Is it just me, or does Megatron look like Darth Vader in that pic?

 

Soundwave was great, and who needs realism in a transformer movie anyway...

And I want dinobots in too ;D

 

I don't want to know ANYTHING about it if any of you see it in your respective countries, I have to wait until the 4th of July to see it

but from the previews I gathered that they won't be talking to people, because Shia LaBeouf talks about them being Japanese. which would disappoint me terribly

I remember when I saw the preview for the first time, I had just seen Team America: World Police and the song "Pearl Harbor Sucked" was stuck in my head...and in big letters it said "A MICHAEL BAY FILM" and I was like shit

 

nah, its not going to be a flop. produced by steven spielberg and directed by michael bay, well
except for the leading role (even steven guy) i think everything will turn out just fine.

if hell scream is in the movie and talk the way he talks then it would be a flop. lol

 

For Autobots...there's OPtimus Prime, Bumblebee, Ironhide, Jazz, and Ratchet i think

 

I missed out on the original cartoon because I was too little so I don't know any of the originals

Theres this chinese box which has all the generation 1 episodes + 1986 movie for like 100 bucks ;D

 

THis is going to be a mainstream piece of crap. Don't hope to get that epic 1990 transformer stuff in this movie.. it's going to worse than spiderman and shrek put together.

I know what you are saying, the only thing you just did is repeat yourself. But I don't care if it's a succes or not, there are alot of BAD movies that were great succeses and alot of GOOD movies that 'flopped'. We're talking about the fact that the movie probably will suck for the true generation 1 transformer fans.

 

3 main problem are wyth the liders of the autobots and the desepticons
- Optmus prime as a truck is totalny changed, it is not the type of truck the fans remeber from the 80s
- Oprimus prime has a face in the movie, the oryginal one had never shoun his mouth (there was one episode but he was beeing destroyed, the new series show him wyth a mouth but he looks lame
- Megatron in all of the forms he used (from 80s to today) he was some type of a gun, canon, tank, here he is some flying .. thing

 

The thing with Megatron is that they didn't make him a gun like G1 because of the same issue why they didn't put in Soundwave, they didn't want to do size changing while transforming. In the movie though, they made up like 2 or 3 Decepticons cuz of some issues they didn't want to do or something

I still think Megatron looks like Darth Vader on the first post pic though

 

It's gonna freaking kick butt....The story will be crap, but it's be a special effect tour-de-force.

On a related note, anyone ever watch Beast Wars?
