So I made a sig with a .gif.. and I realised that the gif plays corectly when viewed with firefox but not when viewed through internet explorer or opera.. is there a way to fix this?

It's funny how I'm a mod and I'm not even sure if this is posted in the right section..

Once this forum gets a bit bigger, it would be nice to have a graphic art section for the sig requests ands stuff like that...

    anyway.. here's the sig:

EDIT: lol I gotta find somewhere else to host the sig.. it doesn't work.

EDIT2: can't attach the sig to the post, I'm trying to find somewhere to upload a 4mb gif.

I know your signature is not linked right now but I have a question for you, are you running Zone Alarm or any other firewall application in the background? If you are running Zone Alarm, try disabling it for just a little bit and see if it corrects the problem, also some programs that are designed to block ads are probably preventing the GIF images from displaying properly.

If you are running the Zone Alarm application, try this:
Privacy - Ad Blocking - Custom - uncheck the "Animation" box

oh yeah I'll attach it to my post..

also, see, I'm not really a noob.. I usualy use imageshack.. the thing is.. the .gif is almost 4mb... I'll try to attach it to the post..

Normaly when I host something it does work.. (look at my avatar and sig right now) but this time I tried to host it with wikiupload.. looks like you can't do that.

I'll try to attach it to the post using starcraft2forums, if it doesnt work I'll try to find a place to host it so I can get help for it asap.. because the gif is much too slow.. unless viewed in firefox...

k let met try to host it. also, I might remake it.. I'm not sure I like the size.. it's kinda huge.

Imagine and markus, you seen to have the same sig size.. which seems to be the same height as mine but a bit wider.. what size are they? I might try to do similar for mine.. but maybe it should be at least 150 or 200 pixels high...

right now it's like.. 550 wide x 250 high, which doesn't give a good ratio.. it should be like 700 x 250.. or something.. but that would be friggen too large.

    anyway I'll work on that.

Did you get your problem fixed JBL? I unfortunately don't know that much about web applications. I just sort of let Photoshop do its thing for me. 4mb is quite a large file though. Are you familiar with compressing the .gifs or would you like to keep it at 4mb to preserve the quality?

Also, someone on another forum mentioned that my signature isn't looped. It shows as looped in my browser, can anybody else lemme know what they see? Thanks a lot :)

Umm... I don't think it's supposed to come across as "slow motion." It should look pretty smooth/fast. Takes about 4 seconds for each loop on my browser. Hmmm... I wonder if it's displaying correctly.

Yes it loops but it takes about 10+ seconds for 1 loop, I'll try it in firefox and I'm sure it's going to be faster and sexier..

it was 4mb with the animated gif loop being at 256 colors and medium quality I didn't want lower than this.. but I'm redoing the whole sig (lol it's so ez!) I want it smaller.. which will reduce the file size to at least under 3mb..

    what size is yours?

I was thinking of 100 or 150 pixels high.. I'll have to both crop and resize my loop..

Edit: it's much faster in firefox...

@JBL, I believe mine is about 600Kbs, and I had to compress it pretty good. I didn't want to have anything above a meg, is what I remember. But now that I think about it, would anybody really have a problem if it was a lil over a meg? Cuz then the quality would be pretty much perfect. Right now you can see the circular patterns from the light and I'm thinking it could look a lot better. But I dunno if it, like, annoys ppl if the files are too large or something.

Thanks for the feedback, JBL. Yea, I'm running mine in Firefox, which is probably why it looks pretty smooth.

holy friggen crap.. my new sig is 2mb and I can't find somewhere to host it.

oh nvm I found somewhere with the limit being 2mb.. and the sig is just a lil bit below that lol.

    let me test that:

    lol.. doesn't work.

lol this is like my 4th edit.. I'll redo the sig anyway.. it's too large and the border is kinda gay.. I'll do a very small one.

I tried Firefox and it works as well.. it's much better in firefox..

edit: here's the 2nd sig (in fact it's the 3rd one but the 2nd I post here)
