Thor Build Speed

It can't really be as fast as it is in the movie, can it? ;> Although it says, irrc, on the sc2 page, that it's build at an "incredible speed". Still, something like that must be way too easy to mass, no?

 

Well, this may be an other advantage... I don't know. I think it costs that much that this build speed can be accepted. And if you want to build it in the battlefield, your scv is vulnerable to everything, what wants to stop it.

 

I thinks it's very likely that it was sped up for the demo.

 

lol, all build times in the demo are ultrafast compared to normal play, just so that we dont have to wait for ages.

edit; Thor had a build time of 100 seconds at blizzcon

 

i think they just speed the building speed for the thor in the demo since no one would like to stand and look at something get builded forever.

so i doubt that the build speed will be the same in the real game. :good:

in the video they probly used a cheat to speed things up cuz no1 wants to sit the for like 5 minutes and watch a unit being built it takes too long

 

i hope that they do not make it too lengthly to build since it already lacks maneuverability, constructing them near enemy positions was the best option left, unless they make this unit transportable by dropships which is not likely to happen

 

it moves a bit more then half the speed of marines, doesn't seem that bad

 

yeah, 75% of a marines speed. So, the speed isnt the problem. The turning is. But still, it only costs 300/300 and 6 supply (its like 2 new siege tanks) so it aint that bad.
I wonder how much mana/how long cooldown the bombardment ability has.
...and how much its damage is. i guess its atleast 50.

i think the thor will be built slower that the gameplay and same with planetory fortress

if it was...that would be down right fckin cheap...

just fly some cc and land other base and make fortress

emm that is quite long time... I don't know.. Maybe that is too much

 

hehehe, i really dont think it will be build that fast, as many are saying. No one wants to wait forever to see something get buildt

Yes i think so, becuase it was the center main building of the Terrans, well not sure, becuase we dont really know the real detailed about the Terrans

 

obviously everything in the terran demo was operation cwalld.

 

Hmm, I guess the build time is that long so you can't quickly build tons of Thors right in front of your enemies base. You really have to defend your SCV's with other units.

That 100 seconds as on Blizzcon seems good to me, if it would be any shorter, games would be to easy to win by just crushing all bases with Thors. You wouldn't even need to research Yamato Cannon for your BC anymore, (if you use it only for quick building chrushing like me) because Thor does massive damage against buildings and is cheaper, also, it has a lower Storage Depot cost. :/

Without a long building time, balance would be seriously disrupted in my point of view.

I guess they just programmed it that way specifically for the demo, because some things had normal build times. And I doubt the cheats are still the same.
