Since the release, I have been searching around the internet some and I have found lots comments and readers reviews saying: "This game is exactly the same as starcraft 1. They didn't change anything!" or "This is starcraft 1.5." or "They didn't change any core ideas and that maks it bad." Now, I have an example of something else for those people to think about. Think of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 and 2. You could effectively say the same thing for those games, I mean, all they did was improve the graphics a bit and add a whole new campaign and multiplayer between the two games. But nobody said, "This is Modern Warfare 1.5!" And all they did with Starcraft II was completely revamp all the graphics, add tons of new units, and a whole new campaign and multiplayer, and yet people are still calling it Starcraft 1.5 or The exact same game whith shiny graphics. I just don't understand how you could say something like that when the game has changed so much. I don't understand it.
1) People did say MW2 was MW1.5 2) PC gamers, Blizzard fans, and those who wait 12 years have higher expectations. 3) Most people who said SC2 was SC1.5 don't know what they're talking about. The rest of us have known this was false since February 2010.

oh i didn't know that, i' not that into Call of Duty as some people, i should've researched that, but anyway you could take alot of other games and do the same thing and call it 1.5.
It's all a matter of perception. The more interested you are in something, the more you focus on fine details, and the more keenly you will discriminate between them. People do this with classical music. Two different orchestras will play Beethoven's 9th in subtly different ways. Most people will say it is exactly the same piece of music. But a music critic who specialises in Beethoven's work will say they are vastly different renditions, and will be able to talk endlessly comparing the pieces.
@Redscorcher: Your point still stands though. This is a game with enough new to be called StarCraft 2. There's just waaaaaaaay too many SCBW elitists.
