It's amazing they made a movie as good as D9 with a budget of only 30 mill. Truly, this teaches us all a lesson about properly spending money.

Also to not experiment on your alien immigrants, but that's besides the point.

I must admit that I am not really a fan of old-school transformers. Always seemed kinda flimsy to me that robots from outer space just happened to have an alternate former that resembled cars.

Also why does avatar (the sf film) get so much hate? For some reason people claim that the Na'vi were portrayed as allmighty gods of righteousness and the humans as dark pits of loathing and hatred, which, according to them, makes the movie stink. The Na'vi attack ambassadors and the humans, for once, try to create peaceful relations and even in the most dangerous situation go for the solution which would result in the fewest deaths as possible, a situation they tried to avoid by setting up diplomatic relations with the Na'vi at great cost. It's like the complainers never saw the movie.

Na'vi are just tree hugging hippies who's been sexing it up with their mounts for a bit to long. No wonder they attack small non blue humanoids on sight.

Exactly, drie. Plus I read somewhere that Earth was in dire need of the resource they were mining. I think it was unobtanium.

Because all it was was eye candy. ALL IT IS.

    Dances with Wolves.

D9 was awesome (Fookin' prawns). Skyline looks like reverse D9.

Eh i didn't like Avatar because of the whole, corperations are bad nature's good bull**** they had through out the movie. In the fact the only thing i really did like about the movie was the Cl. who's name i forget. He was badass.

Maybe they picked cars as alternative? Like in Beast Wars they first scanned the area and went with animals

its fok. not fook or foooking. Ya guys just can't speak south-african :D.

And this is exactly what I mean. Haters be hatin', mon. Pretty much both sides are ****s in the movie, although neither of them is too bad. Only colonel awesome Quaritch is worse and even he wants to subjugate, not kill. I must note that some of the more rabid Na'vi fans are very very annoying and miss the plot of the movie even more.

@EMR: In the original script they needed the unobtanium for long-term space travel, but apparently they found a problem in the concept of needing long-term space travel to get the material for long-term space travel. I don't think it was mentioned in the movie what they needed it for.

    It's an actual south-african curse, its o.

besides, the english writing of the pronounciation would be closer to fohk.

Aye, even I saw it and didn't bother to fix it. Did it now though.

We weren't talking about English, but about South-African; A language which is quite easy to understand if you speak Dutch and English.
