In the CG they're like 5 times the size of a marine! But in the actual game, they're these tiny things a few marines could handle easily. Why couldn't they have a more menacing, like ultras, or at least infestors? I know it doesn't affect gameplay in the least, but still... It's so weird seeing campaign CG, then playing.
It would probably make the disconnect worse if they were more menacing, since they'd be massive things easily taken down by a few marines.
Hold on now. What do you base this 'knowledge' on? Because I remember devs specifically stating that the thor was shrunk to avoid it hiding units behind it, etc. Gameplay is top priority. If you google I'm sure you'll find articles about unit sizes and how disproportionate they are and why. Ultras were dealt with similarly to thors.
I just wish hydras were not made of paper, since I use them in both zvz and zvp. Although with these infestors...almost gotta include them in every matchup and ditch the hydra.
Hydras are DPS units, not tanks... given that blizzard wanted to give zergs an easier time dealing damage, you need to have your DPS units smaller so that more units can attack at once. look at Thors, when they attack together, only 3-4 of them attack at a time because they take so much space. Imagine if Thors were small like marines, you are increasing your concave capability and damage output.
