The perfect protoss proxy counter?

    This protoss decided to go proxy pylon so I went straight for planetary fortress. It ended up working perfectly although he could have gone immortals or void rays to finish me off. Tell me what you guys think :)

    Yeah he def should have teched once he saw you had a Fortress... The CC fortress is bada$$ when it come to defending against any kind of rush really, speacially proxy rush.. His bad for not techin up, GJ on ur part

    IMO, i think PF is a horrible choice for a solution. Not only do you have a non existent army, but also sacrificed your CC for the mule. I haven't watched the replay(at work), but you could have easily bunkered off near you CC, and ended the rush with 2 marines in the bunker. Also sending a reaper to their base(or to destroy their pylon/tech should punish them a lot.

    PF is a big no early game. One of terrans biggest advantages in eco is their mules. early you need to compete with zergs fast expand (in most servers) and protos boosted probes. if you react with a PF to a proxy they may end up calling off the attack and turtleing up. then you punished them minimally for what should have been a all in build. course if they don't scout your PF then you'll win anyway.

    Yeah, PF makes me a bit squeamish.

    A bunker is a better solution because you can scrap it later so you counter the proxy rush without too much of an expense.
