    Hello every body . I am new right now. I present myself. I live in Europe, I am 25, and I have been playing to Starcraft and Starcraft:Brood War for over 8 years. I am one of the biggest fans of this video game (if that can exist ^_^ ), and I was always defending this game toward people who criticized this one. It was a long time I had just "Starcraft" in my thoughts and in my vocabulary. It is serious .... I felt like in love for this game. :thumbup:

    I was looking for a suggestion thread in this forum, but I didn't find anything. Surely I didn't search well.
    However if somebody can lead me to a previous thread like this, please tell me.

    Else, please, post your suggestions in this thread. I am sure that, like me, you would like to post some suggestions, because I know that you want Starcraft 2 to be THE best strategy video game of the next generation ! :powerup:

    So, please, help me post some suggestions inside this thread.

    Another point please : I have an original CD of Starcraft, with my own CD-keys, so I can post my suggestions to battle.net. Unfortunately for me I don't succeed to register there. Thus I count on somebody here to post some suggestions to battle.net, so that a Blizzard employee can read them and, with a little bit of luck, can give those suggestions to the programmers of this future game. We have some months in front of us before its arrival, so we have to "complete" the creation of this game. We are the customers, and without us they can't do anything, so they must follow our suggestions.

    So, ladies and gentlemen, lets' start our suggestions !

    1. Blizzard recreated the peons (SCV, probes and drones) [something I didn't say, I played to the French version, so the names can change. I do my best to modify them], so there are always "go-and-come" of those units, from the main structures to the minerals. I tell you that this "strategy" exists for over 10 years. I want to say that Starcraft 2 is 'just' a "copy-paste" of Starcraft. Of course SC2 must follow the strategy of SC, but there is nothing revolutionary in comparison to other strategy games. Of course Blizzard added resources of 16 points (yellow crystals) and let the 8 points crystals (blue crystals) . NOTHING REVOLUTIONARY IN THE STRATEGY.
    So I suggest to Blizzard to add something new, in addition to their "old strategy", like taking the destroyed metallic structures and units and convert them to additional resources. Example : a destroyed battlecruiser fells on the ground, and a probe can take some pieces of the wreck to convert to, I invent, 100 crystal and 25 gas. No ?

    About suggestion i agree there should be an option to collect destroyed units, and get some %of minerals that were spent on it. I wonder about gas and i think gas extraction % should be lower for collecting it from vechicles but high from collecting it from living things (rotting corpses stink don't they:p?) and Zerg maybe could make gas from dead organic unit that don't even need gas to be built!!

    And tellin from me even more: every race shoold extract minerals in the highest % from their own units.

    And one more thing races could different in which things they are best, like Zerg could eat any organic like blood or maybe even some special liquid from immortals in which live fallen protoss? Protoss could be the best in collecting all types of platings and even hard carapece from biggest Zerg units and Terran would be kinda balanced in both.

    And u know Samir i'm gonna help u in keeping this topic alive coz i have lots of mine own suggestions:) like...
    trucks and its equivalents for Protoss and Zerg. They would be usefull in many situations. Everybody at least once where out of minerals even for new expansion:)

    1st of all nobody should ever need to swarm minerals to get as much as it can be get from 1field of it in a time. Trucks would wander around SCVs and when full of minerals go to CC and unload. Zerg could have some humster like creature that would keep that mins in mouth, Protoss maybe even would teleport mins straight to Nexus without coming closer to it.

    2nd they could collect dead and destroyed units as stated above.
    Zerg humsterlisk Wink maybe could be like cow for other Zerg units producing some kind of food or drink from what it eats that could heal other units faster.
    I consider Phase Prisms good as a Protoss "truck". And if so...
    All trucks as a big units with kinda lots of place to be loaded with junk could be transporter units or last hope for fleeing rather small units but maybe some medium size also. These units rather wounded and close to be killed could hide inside these "trucks" until out of range of fire or other danger. Maybe terran truck/transporter could be even a moving bunker?
    AND suddenly I thought about situation when base is rided and close to be destroyed and there are some units under creation, morphed or bein summoned in warp buildings. What if these trucks could take these units in parts before these buildings are destroyed and unload them in some safe expansion Factory/Warp Gate/Hatchery ect ect ect???

    And what about good usefull things from other games? I liked:

    1. "H" hot key in Homeworld2 which allowed to send peons to closest asteroids without mannualy clicking on it

    2. Supreme Commander planning units to be made in factories that also are still under construction:)

    3. If there will be no limit in units under control what about no limit in units undear construction? Warcraft3 presented 7place query but i liked this from Supreme Commander - shift + left click adds +5units another combination adds 100. NEVER EVER TRY TO ROLL PRODUCTION AND TAKE CONTROL OVER THE BATTLEFIELD AT ONCE:))

    YES I KNOW that nobody will have too much minerals and gas to plan 100 and only 1factory btw:p. BUT...:

    4. Only units that are started to being made take whole minerals and gas price. All other units in query have no price and can be queued endlessly (in theory xP)

    While i do have things to add to this thread and i will add my opnions later i like would to request beetlelisk to combine his posts. (and delate the extra posts) because double posting is really frowned on in this forum to try and avoid spam. (even though in this case i know its not spam but it is the rules)

    np i made it because first of all i wanna my post to be read because i know too much ppl give up when they see to big post and 2nd coz i wanted to divide it by different aspects of game they conclude and last 3rd i saw this topic and my ideas i thought some time ago didnt come together but in few minutes. Also if ill add some new posts from time to time i dont think ill unite them:p

    But anyway thx for suggestion:)

    I made about some other things, this time about range limits of units.
    1. In C&C Tiberian Sun cursor changes its appearance if something can be attacked from place where some unit is now or it is out of range
    2. In Supreme Commander there is an option to see range of all units by circles that appear around them. This is auto when some defence structure is placed.

    and one more thing
    i think there should be an option to distinguish at least buildings on the minimap, maybe by some special option key near it, so common factories and supply depots can be distinguish from bunkers and turrets.

    This is not a duplicate thread. Good post idea. However, the best place to provide suggestions that will be read by moderators and passed on to Blizzard is in the discussion of the Mothership problem:

    Ok let me rephrase that, combine the double posts or the mods will most liekly do it and they probally wont be as nice about it.

    As for the topic i think it is really hard to give any concrete suggestions untilwe see some of the zerg. But the few i would have is (besides balancing tweaks) would change the Mothership back to the "super unit" staus. (I will not elaborate why because there is a ton of reasons throughout these forums and on the B.net forums) And besides that give the protoss a new support air unit (on top of the Mothership) and remove the stasis orb and maybe add somthing in its place. (preferably more of a utilty unit but im not sure)

    I will continue to give my suggestions here, even if you told that all suggestions must be posted in the "mothership" forum. But my suggestions don't talk about this special unit. My suggestions are out of subject in the "mothership" suggestion thread.

    I was talking in 1. about the resources, now another thing

    2. THE ZERG ABILITY TO GET HEALED

    - You noticed that the Protoss have shields, and that they can reload them in the shield battery to be over-powerful. I noticed anyway that no one used the shield battery. However they are safe.

    - The Terran have the medics to instantly heal the infantry, and SCV's to "heal" the mechanic units. They are also safe.

    - What for the Zerg's ? NOTHING. Of course they heal by themselves with time, but this time is too long to get 100 % healed units. Over ten minutes to get an Ultralisk safe at 100 %.
    So I suggest to Blizzard to give us an option, an upgrade, maybe an expensive one in minerals and gas, to speed the heal up for the Zerg's. Maybe one ability for the ground units, another one for the air untis, and a last one for the Zerg's' structures.
    Now I could say that there is a balance between the units. Even if the Zerg's use mass attack and the other races spectacular units.




    PS : please Joneagle_X, if you tell me just to post ANY suggestion to the "mothership question thread", I'll do that. However I believe those suggestions are out of subject in that thread. So please, tell me what to do, and I will follow your rules :)

I hope somebody can post those suggestions there, at my place. If interested of course.


    I have three other suggestions right now.

    3. THE UNITS CONTROL :

    I already saw in a thread that this question was asked, but I would like to post here. I will be rapid.
    Did you ever have the problem to select the same units once. I mean imagine a lot of different Terran units at the same place (marines, firebats, tanks, wraiths, ...).
    Imagine you want to select ALL THE MARINES. What did you do ? You just double-clicked on one and 12 of them were selected. But if you had more than 12 you had to select them, then send them somewhere and wait until they disappear from your screen, and then you had to double-click again on another marine to select 12 others.

    So what do I suggest ?

    I suggest to Blizzard to make like in HOMEWORLD 2. You select the mass units, and you just select the marines (maybe you have 30), who are presented in a little icon on the screen, and you send all of them.
    This ability will be more efficient with the Zerg's, because I want to send all the zerglings against my enemy, not 12 of them after 12 of others.


    4. THE ENERGY LOAD :

    I was talking above, in point 2., about the heal ability for the Zerg's. Now I want to share with you my fundamental suggestion about the energy. Fundamental because this suggestion concerns all the races of this game. Do you know what I am talking about ? About the energy to use special abilities, FOR EVERY RACES.
    Well I suggest to Blizzard to create an upgrade which allows us to speed the energy reload speed up. It will allow us to use more our special abilities than before, in SC. This upgrade will need an important resources cost.


    5. ZOOM ON THE UNITS AND STRUCTURES :

    This is a suggestion about the visual and graphic effect. I played to HOMEWORLD 2 and in this game you can make a zoom on anything, even you are free to see anything. Your camera is totally free ! You can move it anywhere !
    So in parallel with the "normal visual effect" like in WC3 and WoW, I suggest to Blizzard to allow us to make a zoom on any unit and structure. I would love to be totally free to move my camera and be on the ground and see the war. We move the view with the mouse and the arrows. Especially we make a zoom with the scroll.


    6. WARNING WHEN A FRIEND CLOAKED UNIT IS DETECTED.

    When I play a ghost, cloaked and I enter the enemy lines, I always fear to be detected. NOTHING warns me when the enemy detectors (turrets, science vessel, spore colony, observer, comsat station, overlord) detected me. The enemy attacked me and I died.
    I suggest to allow us to click on the turret, the overlord, .... to see the field of view of invisible units, and make a sort of visual alarm (or sound alarm) to warn us. Of course there is something where the ghost can't see the detector : with the Protoss observer. It is an invisible unit, the ghost does not detect it, and no warning can be activated to warn him that he is detected. But when a friend unit detects the Protoss observer, I can click on this unit, and see where I can be not to be detected by this unit.

    @ SAMIR about
    # 2 Maybe burrowing in creep could faster healing? For Ultralisk that are too big to burrow IMHO it would nice if drones could... COVER them with creep ;)). Also for me it's rather obvious that most if not all units will can be upgraded like ghouls and abominations in W3 so they will can eat corpses.
    Also in my 2nd post here ive written about cow/humster Zerg unit check it ;))

    # 3. THE UNITS CONTROL
    Blizzard already made this:) this will be possible to control more than 12units at once... im not sure if this number wont be infinity:)

    # 4. I won;t be surprised if batteries will can load some energy, maybe like moonwells in Warcraft 3? 1battery mana = 2hp or 1/2 unit mana restored.
    For Terrans some upg for this generator addon thing.
    And for Zerg special unit?

    # 6 same thing when enemy's cloaked unit is detected + maybe special icon like this for idle workers in W3. I remeber seeing many times Observes hidden over some cliffs where they almost couldn't be seen even when detected.
    And one more thing some fast tehing terrans block their ramp with scv place some marines/siege tanks just after it and barracks above it, so units AI try to choose "fighting unit" not worker, and ramp cannot be taken.
    Solution could be like for units hidden behind some buildings or trees in W3 or Warhammer 40 000 which are whole in opponets colour until they move and leave this place.

    And one more thing from me: RACE INFO + TRAINING OPTION like in Homeworld or Warhammer 40k would be nicer than info on the page ;)

    i want to suggest 1 of the biggest CHANGE starcraft can get.

    uhm. day and night for sc2! aesthetic or not it doesn't matter. this is the thing that will make starcraft 2 DIFFERENT and SUPERB than any other rts games. (dont even talk about warcraft 3). and i mean at night everything is DARK, and visions are lowered you need flashlights, detectors, etc to improve your sight.

    this is just for now, i'll add some more later.

    you are welcome Zeratul11 :) I know we wrote a lot of suggestions everywhere in this forum, but not in this thread. I thought to select them and write them in this thread, but that would have been repetitions.

    We talked about this suggestion, the day and night views in SC2. That would allow us to hide some units in the darkness, and use some lights from units to show them. There was a video where we could see a Colossus giving light to a dark zone. And we saw some hidden units (if I remember well).

    Hope that you'll write a lot of suggestions.

    Nice thread idea. Where are you from in Europe?

    My idea:

    I would like the Xel'Naga as a fourth race, even if only playable in the campaign mode. I really like the idea of them having an adaptable, moving base (one of the their worldships) and have a separation between really weak "experiment" units with very powerful hybrids and Xel'naga at the top with a weakness in the middle section. I feel that it would help balance them. For more on this go to my post in the Xel'Naga thread.

    @ String-me along : I live in Brussels, Belgium. I am born there (I mean here ;D).

    The Xel'Naga the fourth race ? That's what I wanted. Blizzard can surprise us in revealing that. but I am SURE there will be no fourth race, and I am disappointed. However I am SURE there will be special units like the hybrids and the Xel'Naga in the campaign. We'll maybe not play them, but they'll be in SC2 however. We'll have to wait for the following of SC2 (in 10 years :mad: ) to play with them. Be patient .... :sleeping:

    Actually it is 7:15 pm here, so I'm not waking up ;) but good night in Belgium. I really hope that they do surprise us (blizzard has been full of surprises in the past) but I don't think that they will. At least I can hope :)

    not after 10 years.. i hope they release an expansion to sc2 in less than 3 years with the xelnaga and UED as new race =)

    yah i saw the video with the colossus in the dark with flashlights i really hope they do implement the mechanics of day and night.

    Isn't the UED going to be the same like the Terrans?or did you mean by the technology they use.

    and hopefully sc2 expansion comes out ASAP after the release of sc2 cause war3's expansion never took so long to release.

    having it in one cd is an option... ::)
