So what do you generally view videogames as? I see it depending on the game I see it as an intellectual exercise (for games such as Civilization and to an extent games with lots of intellectual, deep topics in it, for example Bioshock) and as a hobby (just about every other game, including Starcraft).
i see it as a hobby, and also..light entertainment. i also find it hard to resist playing a game once u start it (as it sometimes stuff up your studies).
I voted for "Fun way to spend time, hobby, habit" Life? Well, one of the reasons I play is because I have nothing better to do in life
I'm not happy at all. My friends study in another city and we don't have time to meet. I have to go to work on weekdays and school on most weekends so I'm tired all the time. If not for gaming I wouldn't really have anything to do. Besides, life is overrated anyway
Oh well, good times will come again... eventually. Back on topic though it's surprising how many people voted for Intellectual exercise. I thought I was the only one who would vote for it, but apparently not.
Monster Hunter = almost pure awesomeness. I went over to my friend's house when he was on monster hunter and I screwed up his char so bad. I wasted all the explosives on err, myself, and ran him bankrupt.
I voted for "Fun way to spend time, hobby, habit" and "An intellectual exercise" . Mostly to just spend time in a fun way, although most games require you to think before pressing/clicking.
"An intellectual exercise" - This applies to games like Myst, or any game which requires a good bit of thinking. I really enjoy these kinds of games, but I don't have as many as I would like. "Fun way to spend time, hobby, habit" - This is the "other" category, though perhaps I am in denial and video games are my life...
videogame are life suckers! they take your time away and murder it. but they are still fun. some have catchy music too. do do DOO, do do DOO, do do do do DO do do do do do. http://vgp.legendaryfrog.com/movies_trog_w.php
It's a hobby to me, and I find them entertaining, which is why I play them, but absolutely nothing more than a profession, because someone has to make them, right?
