Ok so here is the Idea, play against a computer (very easy for now) on any map and see how high you can get your food before one of these two things happen. 1) you hear the words addition pylons required ( supply or overlordyness) 2) your mins/gas go above 1000 The games should be played on fastest, and build a reasonable mix of units. and let see who can get too 200 food, then submit replay this should be some fun and help with macro skills. so here is my first attempt at 66 food i miss timed a pylon and got supply blocked and then tried to build a guy a little to quickly.
I like it, if i have some time i'll try it for sure. It should definitely be a time contest though, so you have to expand optimally and constantly produce units to get to 200 supply as fast as possible. Also, i believe there should be some restrictions on queueing units, so you can't dump minerals too easily (max 3 queued units in each facility?) Edit: Here's my 1st try. I hit 200 at 16.40. I guess i could've do it faster, but still i'm pretty satisfied.
Gonna be trying later. 16:40 seems like a really good time. I think forcing this competition to go zerg and playin it on Normal would make this a lot more difficult. I mean damn, who isn't supply capping the hell outa themselves while they pump units? Plus a very easy computer does absolutly nothing. I mean 1 marine in 16 minutes? XD That's a joke. Possibly have a rule about having to get atleast 1 of every type of unit up as well. Even variations like Broodlords and Overseers and such. And to make it harder the fastest to get all the upgrades as well as the units.
i thought about queueing restrictions but its a risk if you dont have enough supply, also thinking about putting a cap on how far above your current supply your supply limit can be. but that may come later.
Did it as zerg..I think. Not sure. You tell me. xD I think I did it around the 16:20's and I played on normal mode. o.o So I iz the wiener.
Yeah, seems like you beat me fair and square, i'll have to try harder next time . That gold transfer was a good move. Also, medium ai seems optimal, it puts just a little bit of pressure.
The real test will be to see if you can get it below 16:00. That I think will be the challenge. Toss SHOULD have the upper hand because EVERYTHING is 2 supply+, so massing warps and then massing lots should be GG. Gonna test it out another time though. Actually kinda funny. xD Few games after this one my macro was retardedly good.
This is a great idea...you should throw in some other things too though. Like you can't go 5 seconds without making a worker (hard to enforce though). But it becomes much harder to keep your resources low when you're constantly making workers and expand.
