well it would be kinda cool if we could find and connect to sc bw games through the new b.net 2.0 so the chat system would a nice bonus for players still playing sc bw
I think that what takes so much time is to convert all the databases from the users to be usable in battle.net 2.0/ Imagine there are millions of players who have subscribed and played in 'battle.net 1.0' Now I think Blizzard is MANUALLY encoding all the databases from their servers or HDD to re-write them in their new servers recognizing battle.net 2.0. I don't think our databases could be automatically convertible from b.n 1.0 to b.n 2.0.
And Blizz has put a copy of SC:BW in space! Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Blizz killed Bnet for SC1. They have said they want SC2 to be the esport game. I don't think it's likely or an intelligent move, but I wouldn't be shocked. Edit: D3 fans can see some pics of the female version of the monk at 7:20. The above link isn't working for me, so here is the one from ign. Otherwise nothing exciting Blizz-wise.
Blizzard already mentioned that they will continue support the old Battle.net, so don't worry, you'll be able to play the original StarCraft for a long time...
