the game is awaiting a response from battle.net

I just got this error after i downloaded the new partch 1.0.3

any tips on how to solve i can connect to my b.net account i can connect to wow but it just wont let me play starcraft 2 it says this when i attempt to log in

 

You need to give us more information about the error. Details details details (as my 3rd grade teacher used to tell me). Just telling us you got an error doesn't tel us anything.

we need to find a way to log in ive had this game for a week now and ive been stuck at the login screen and recently just reformatted my pc and reinstalled sc 4-6 times but no luck! plz help

 

come on people. If you want help, i need details. First, try reading my FAQ. If that doesn't solve your problem, then post a full dxdiag dump in your own thread. I can't help any of you without DETAILS. It's like calling 911 and doing this:

911: What is your emergency?
You: I'm hurt.

911: Okay, where can we find you?
You: I'm hurt.

You guys say you have an error, you NEED TO TELL ME what the error said, maybe a screenshot, or StarCraft II error log.. something, anything!

I go to the screen where you type in your username before your password. I type in my username and click "ok" then it waits for 5-10 sec. before a a pop up box comes up and says "The game is awaiting a response from battle net, the servers may be down or it could be your internet connection."

I know is my computer because I can log in fine on my friends computer and this problem has been happening ever since i downloaded the new patch. Hope that's is enough info.

 

Okay. That's a start. If it happaned after the patch, someone in another thread that this solution of clearing the battle.net cache helped them.. for some reason.

 

I tried the solution that you posted and it still doesn't work, but thanks anyways. Any other solutions though?

 

This happened after the 1.0.3 patch, meaning it worked fine before? Try running the StarCraft 2 repair tool.

 

Yes, it worked fine before. My cousin played it for like an hour after the patch, it worked fine but once he tried to play again this problem occured. How do you run that? Sorry im a noob at this.

 

Start=>All Programs=>StarCraft 2=> StarCraft 2 repair.

 

Kk, I did the repair, still doesn't work. Any other solutions?

 

A thought, your not running PeerBlocker, are you? 2nd what OS are you running? Might need to check the windows firewall exceptions list.

*Edit* I'm heading to bed. I'll try my best to catch up with this in the morning.

 

I think this is the issue. Every time after applying a patch, exe file is changed and you need to unblock it in Windows fw (or any other firewall) again.
So try to disable windows fw to be 100% sure this is not blocking sc2.

 

Only disable the firewall if you have some decent anti-virus protection. If you have some kind of combo firewall/anti-virus protection.. update it to see if the new StarCraft 2 has been added to its white list (Norton and McAfee would be good examples of this).

 

Same problem , Can not connect to Battle net , not even in off line mode. Go via browser and can log on fine. COULD IT BE the latest patch.!

 

Alright thanks for helping me, I checked my anti-virus's firewall and the status for starcraft 2 was "block". I changed it to "full" and I am now able to connect now! *Note: I am using Mcafee anti-virus protections*

 

I am also having the same problem here. None of these methods seem to have worked.
