I´m a bit tired of the shining armor knight concept that raynor defends, and I would personally stick with the Terran Dominion as the main Terran government as it fits the race as a whole instead of just idealism and heroism presented by Raynor. Terrans are a highly divided race, and only strong dictatorships may give them a chance to stand against the alien hordes which menace them. i create this pool to know people´s opinion about the future of the Terran Dominion and emperor Mengsk I
Mengsk and the Dominion survive but the Khel Morian and Umojans remain free. I want it to be conflicts in the SC universe.
well, there will be, even when only the Dominion stood large pirate militias and rebels fought each other and Mengsk´s rule, so anyways you can expect heavy civil wars among terrans, just thought that overall the Terrans would be better under Mengsk´s rule.
I think Mengsk will be axed but the dominion will go on but i dont think he will die in wings of liberty
The story would get better if a tyrant like Mengsk goes on, more rebel militias are born, and under his strong leadership the Terrans can hope for a better chance of survival
I'm predicting Mengsk is going to die, but its not going to be Raynor that kills him. At any rate, I would be terribly surprised if the Dominion and Mengsk both do not see their end by the conclusion of Legacy of the Void.
The Dominion will be shortlived. Mengsk is a dictator with weak legitimacy and as such relatively easy to topple. The only thing holding his current government from falling apart is the looming threat of the swarm. As failures begin to pile up in Wings of Liberty, and Mengks incompetence becomes apparent the Dominion will fracture, much like the confederacy did in SC1. Eventually a new ruling group will claim power and (hopefully) push back the Zerg. Im betting its Raynor with his good Protoss contacts, as Protoss protection and collaboration will be key to the survival of the sector.
I think the Dominion will fall by the end of the campaigns, and it will be up to the good guys to rally humanity back together and finally fix things.
Id like a unexpected kind of ending to the starcraft universe by time the last game gets put out not something that you would expect and follows every other game with a happy ending.
Ending on a bit of high note, i.e. major battle won, massive enemy force routed would be fine but a star wars style 'evil has been defeated for good, good bye' wouldn't really suit.
UED main force comes and destroys most of the Zerg leaving them scattered and uncontrolled then begin a campaign of hunting them down planet by planet. Why? Because of these two premises: 1) UED had been watching that sector before they sent the fleet 2) The UED fleet was an expeditionary fleet, not the main fleet Therefore, the UED would have knowledge of their expeditionary fleet being crushed by the Zerg. The natural reaction would be to launch a much larger fleet to deal with the Zerg.
but the UED would have no need to crush the sector, they sent the expeditionary fleet to control the zerg and since that failed i doubt they would go back in without a different rethinked plan, that would take a while. They might come in for some superior technology if the Xel'naga reappear, that could be a devastating war
I know that, all the stuff suggests Valerian will take over, although if Artuctus survives or not is in question, neverthless the Dominion and the Mengsk dynasty will survive, want to bet on that?
I hope both Valerian's and Megsk's reign will end sometime soon. It's fine to have a tyrant running rampant in a galaxy where the Zerg threat is not present. However, given the situation, the Terrans need to combine both military and political powers to avert their impending doom. Raynor is doing his best with all the resources available him, however, unitiy is most likely required to defeat the Zerg, there's no doubt in my mind that it is the only option for the Terran race if it desires to continue existing. Since i inherently dislike Mengsk and all of his lineage, i would also like an alternate ending with the destruction of the Dominion Faction. It would potentially be an interesting future for the Terrans.
Mengsk is the only charismatic and strong leader available, Raynor has no experience and is just too idealistic in order to be a real governor, and without a strong leader Terrans factionize, if the Dominion is not there, the Terrans would factionate even more, only under its government did ever all the mayor Terran factions unite
I wonder to what extent the side missions will branch off from the story. For example, would there be a story path that ends in the destruction of the Dominion? Somehow I doubt it if it's not the main storyline. But, still, it'd be nice to see the effects of both. As for the topic, I voted "Mengsk and the Dominion survive but the Khel Morian and Umojans remain free". I do, however, think that Valerian will get his own faction since he's so intent on being independent. Maybe we'll see some father-son war drama
