The Final Days of Map Making?

Mapping has just about died out now for StarCraft: Brood War.

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is less than a month away (Dec. 3rd last time I checked), and there is few new maps. Every major mapping site has shut down.

Maplantis died a few years ago.

StarEdit.net isn't too visited.

StarCraft.org got nerfed and now has NO maps.

SC2Legacy.com lost its map section.

IS THIS THE END?

Even here, in the forums, there is only about 5 people visiting this AT ALL.

Dood, you really think Sc2 is coming in a month?

You do realize no beta has even came out?

the beta might be launched between march - july of 2009.

Sc1 has still some last year to be played/mapped.
And I still map.

You fail. The release of SC2 is all speculation, only Blizzard knows.

 

But the beta isnt even open yet. Dec 3rd is only 2 weeks away. That's not enough time for a decent beta & bug fix, considering the time it would take to program the fixes and create the tens of thousands of disks for the game.

 

If the game releases on Dec 3, the world's ending on Dec 4th

 

I mean how are you so sure of dec 3? it wont happen.

BTW, technically, there are betas in BlizzCon and WWI.

 

I heard that there is 3 seperate games for the campaign for SC2 1 CD for toss 1 CD for terran 1 CD for zerg..50$ each :S

It's one DVD for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty (Terran), one DVD for StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (Zerg), and one DVD for StarCraft II: Eternal Darkness (Protoss). UGH, have to remember the Zerg and Protoss names...

Also, in the Press Release, something about 30 missions per game (90 missions?!) was mentioned. If it was only one "game" then we would only be getting 30 missions. Or 1/3 of three DVDs, whatever the case.

You fail too because even Blizzard doesn't know the release date

 

To the contrary, the large incoming of spam and off-topic posts by everyone present seems to have revived the less-important threads.

Shift our focus, and spam will have saved the most important section of the entire forums!

 

Saying the section is dying is saying that the forum is dying. It is not! The section is merely taking a break for the Holiday season as well as awaiting the arrival of the ONE (well the TWO in this case) Patience! The map making forum will be revived soon enough!
