Anyone know what the energy creature is about? I read the article a few times, found it interesting, but lacking of in-depth explanation. Does anyone know whether this creature, which I never even heard of in SC1, will appear in the predecessor? Also, where is the energy creature even mentioned in SC1? Thanks.
i think its mentioned in a starcraft book, i dont think it was in sc1, i beat all 6 of the campaigns and never heard of it.
it's not in the game, that's for sure. the closest thing to an "energy creature" inside the game are Archons. or Hallucinations.
I hate it when critical points appear on the books, and I end up like I missed a whole load of info when I was playing the campaign... :/
this section should probobly be in lore? info about the energy creature in spoiler tag, alot of text therefore the spoiler tags. Spoiler "The energy creature hatches from "wild" xel'naga temples.[2] It is huge and squid-like[1] and glows white.[2] Its internal energy form is barely contained within a luminous organic skin. It has giant feathery wings, grasping tentacles,[1] and enormous glowing eyes which shine incredibly brightly.[2] The energy creature is a powerful telepath, capable of being sensed by ghosts and protoss such as Judicator Amdor. The latter believed the presence's power was greater than the combined mental power of the protoss race. It has the ability to emit "scanning beams" which disintegrate creatures and objects of interest. It can use the beams to absorb the genetics of protoss and zerg. While it is capable of absorbing terrans, it seems to have little interest in them and doesn't do so deliberately (except as an attack). In addition, the energy creature is capable of absorbing incoming energy attacks and converting them into biological energy.[1] edit History [edit] Bhekar Ro The xel'naga temple of Bhekar Ro was uncovered by a violent storm. Its first act was to absorb a hapless terran who ventured too close. The site eventually erupted into a battle between the terrans, protoss and zerg, all attempting to take over the temple. Members of all three races invaded the temple, where they were absorbed, enabling it to "awake" and undergo a metamorphosis. The temple absorbed the energy from a nuclear attack, which the creature used to combine the genetics of the zerg and protoss within itself to complete its maturation. During the battle, a ghost dropped a nuke on the temple. This granted the temple enough power to awaken. A chrysalis exploded its way out of the temple, hatching and releasing an energy creature. As it flew from the battlefield, it absorbed the protoss and zerg around it and reached another stage of maturity. Excess bioenergy created from the nuke's energies caused a "boom" in plant growth. In orbit terran battlecruisers opened fire upon it with Yamato guns. The creature absorbed the weapons fire and the ships for energy. Xerana opined that the creature was a young hatchling and only accidentally absorbed terrans. It "released" the ones that had been absorbed around the temple.[1] [edit] Nemaka A xel'naga temple was present on the world of Nemaka as well. The top had been blown open, and in 2505 archaeologist Jake Ramsey theorized that an energy creature hatched out of there (within the previous fifteen years).[3] [edit] Pegasus and the Wormhole Four years after the Brood War, Prelate Zeratul, broken out of his lethargy by terran archaeologist Jake Ramsey and the protoss preserver Zamara, traveled to the world of Pegasus after being told of a still-living xel'naga temple there by Zamara. When he arrived, the temple hatched and released an energy creature. Fascinated, Zeratul followed the newborn creature into space to a gathering of similar creatures. They began moving faster and grew increasingly bright. In a blast of light, they disappeared, leaving a wormhole, through which Zeratul could see a glimpse of a single world. Overcome by curiosity, Zeratul began to move into the wormhole, knowing that whatever was on the other side would change everything.[2] " taken directly from starcraft wiki
I doubt that an indestructible supercreature would't be such a good idea for an enemy, lol. Maybe a small one that you would have to avoid in a map that contains a Xel'Naga Temple. You know, in one of the Zeratul missions.
lol I'm sure it have a weakness but well to know it terran have to study it and i,m not sure the creature will accept. (absorb terran)*poua they suck*(reject them)
It absorbs Zerg and Protoss because the Xel'Naga created them, and was trying to combine the best of both races... Apparently, their experiments are still active... He might appear in one of the final missions for any campaign. Kinda like Archimonde for WCIII, or a heavy unit. They'll find some way to kill/destroy/null it.
"Fascinated, Zeratul followed the newborn creature into space to a gathering of similar creatures. They began moving faster and grew increasingly bright. In a blast of light, they disappeared, leaving a wormhole, through which Zeratul could see a glimpse of a single world." I very much doubt they'll appear in-game, not if they're sacrificing themselves to create wormholes. As for the depth of the article, it's based on all known information... and there's hardly any of that.
