The Emo/Screamo Thread

hey guys. who here listens to emo/screamo music besides me?  ;D we can talk about the genre in here as well as punk, metal or any other genre you guys like to listen to.

i listen to punk and metalcore. i used to listen to emo...

i have a band myself. we play punk music =D

 

lol. our band play punk and emo music. although im don't really know much about metalcore.

 

heh, my band is not that big...we just started composing songs...we dont even have an EP yet and we have only done 4 gigs

 

lol. us too. we haven't composed anything yet coz my friends are busy on other more important things.

i used to listen to the used, funeral for a friend, the hot lies...yeah...lol....tahts about it

i dont mind emo music..i just dont the lyrics....screaming is cool =D

atm im a pop-punk lover: yellowcard, fall out boy, sum 41...etc etc....lol

And yellowcard was INSANE live. I really like them right now.

Them, blink 182, the ataris, and brand new have been getting a lot of plays lately

TBS is one of the best popular ones , brand new is great, they are alternative emoish bands.... im not a fan of sreamo ...screaming makes no sense but i like underoath. i like mcr's song teenagers its funny...........any one here listen to say anything their not emo....actually they make fun of them but a great band or how about saves the day they are classic

 

Actually, those aren't emo at all. All post-Hardcore. Since you're laughing without even listening funny guy; What do YOU listen to?

 

I don't mind Screamo...its just not my main source of music. The thing with Screamo for me is that is one of the few genres that still have great guitars, so I have a couple Screamo bands just for that. My problem with it is that a good percentage of Screamo listeners are the annoying "all music should die except my own" type of people.

I do however love Punk, other forms of Metal, and of course, 70s-80s Rock

 

Yeah. If you like good guitar Dance Gavin Dance would be a good band for you to check out. Great guitar in ALL their songs. Amazing clean vocals too.

I listen to about everything, but Punk; Pop-Punk; and Hardcore take up the majority

 

I don't mean to hate but I might have to clarify some things to ya guys....

yellowcard is NOT punk. nor is fallout boy....

what IS punk is your local band that plays in the the crappiest venue in your town getting 5 bucks a pop playing in basements of houses.... punk is grassroots against the popular music, and against popular ideals.

Ok sorry for that, I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, I just have to get it out of my system... I'm not hating on the bands, I'm just saying not to label bands a genre that they are not....

If you want to listen to what is more punk then listen to bands like: Subhumans/Citizen Fish, Adolescents, Leftover Crack, or your local punk bands. (and I hope I just didn't kick a hornets nest of angry people)

 

Oh don't worry, I know what Punk is. Sex Pistols, Black Flag, all that jazz...

To tell you the truth, I really do listen to everything....I got music from the Sex Pistols, to Metallica, to Inflames, to Bon Jovi, to Maroon 5, to Jay-Z....hell, I even listen to a lot of Broadway stuff!

I've never devoted my life to one specific genre, that just got annoying for me after a while...

I do have to say that probably my favorite band right now is Bon Jovi. (And yes, I know they're not Screamo/Punk/Emo)
