    Please expand! Discuss!

DO scout. Know where your enemy is, as well as possible expansions.
    DO expand.
    DO expand fast.
DO always have enough Pylons, Supply Depos and Overlords. Waiting to build them slows you down.
DO NOT hole up in your base, as safe as it may seem. You’ll be bled to death.
DO NOT leave your enemy alone. If you do this they will build up a significant force, possibly expand, and before you know it they will be everywhere.
DO pester you enemy frequently. Keep them on their toes. Don’t let them get settled in.
DO build many troop producing buildings. Two gateways can build twice as many zealots as one. The same can be said for three.
DO NOT build only one or two types of units. Every unit has their counter. Against a competent player, amassing a single unit will prove a waste of resources.
DO upgrade you units, it pays off.
DO know when to retreat, and know when not to, when your screwed and will be better off causes them damage then saving a few more units, and when to cut your loses. Just because you wasted resources on an expansion doesn’t mean you should waste more fighting over it if the cause is lost.
DO NOT fall prey to one of two invisible units that you cannot detect. Comsat, turrets, cannons and spore colonies are your friends!
    DO macro and micro.

Good Post. I think this is quite a good Do and Don't List. I cant find anything to add but hopefully someone else can!

Reiterate "DO scout" several times, because it's the most important thing on the list, and it's the difference between good and bad players.

Now that I have more time to put into a reply, here is some things. I dont even do half of that list....most of the maps I play have been modified so the resources have 50k minerals each. So then I dont need to get out of my base!. I rather just spend my resources on tons of cannons first, making sure units can still get out and my whole base is protected. But when I play multiplayer against my friends brother, I have to scout or he'll *SLAUGHTER* me. I mean that. He loves terran and their tanks. I just find tanks annoying, but used in some places can be useful.

Grand, thats becuase you play Fastest, which to some extent cannot use most of these tips. However, massing a single unit can also kill you depending on skill level or your oponent.

also say that scouting isnt just for finding your enemy, its for finding out what build you have to do and such to adapt to him. Look at his buildings, and from that determine what he will do.

and as for fastest maps :/

they're a drug in my opinion, they kill your low money gaming.

No, UMS maps are a drug.

I would probably be the best player on these forums, but UMS kills my practice time.
and DO NOT BE A NOOB. Don't whine, don't complain, don't say OMG YOU ****ING HACKZOR!!!

DO always make Drones/SCVs/Probes. If you stop producing them, you can't transfer them and get the most of your your expansion in a timely manner.

Just thought I'd push that one out :) Awesome list!!

It depends on the time and the bases you have.

If you have 1 base, always have 2-3 workers per mineral, unless you are rushing.
By start and nat, have about 2. Continue building workers.
By 3 base, have about 1.5 - 2. There is enough workers still to supply a steady mineral stream. Have about 2.5 once you have more Factories/Hatcheries/Barracks/Gateways.
By 4+ Base, having 0.75-1.5 workers is fine. TRY to aim for 2-3, but it will not be needed until you decide on late-game heavy tech, such as Battlecruisers, etc. You can support about 4 Starports with 1.5, 12+ Gateways with 2-3, and about 8 Gateways and 2-3 Stargates with 2-3 workers.

I think most UMS maps are fun, but i would rather just play normal maps, on lan connection(against computers) so that i dont be tempted to use cheats.

The workers mine only 5 minerals a trip as opposed to the 8 in the original starcraft, i think the mining rate is supposed to be relatively the same due to increased pathing though.
