The human (terran) troops in the cinematics look like some random guys formed rag-tag army and forced to fight. They act like some odd militiamen, unprofessional, have no discipline, goofing around during mission, telling jokes, drinking cold beverage when the mission hasn't completed, talking crap to the ghost etc. I know it fits the story line because these guys are supposed to be some rednecks who don't want to be there in the first place but are forced to do so because their behavior is control by some neuroimplant chip.
As a human fan, I hope human troops can be shown in a better light. If UED were to make a comeback in the future, seeing UED propaganda at work, I wish to see their soldiers dipicted like a combination of Japanese during WWII and Chinese during the Korean war: heavily indoctrinated, patriotic, loyal to the government and its cause, disciplined, honor the ranking, respect their superiors, serious in their missions, fanatical in combat, honor over their own lives, die rather than surrender, no retreat unless ordered, stay their ground when facing overwhelming odds even if it means certain death,

They die anyway, there is no surrender in starcraft.

Well, most of them (to my knowledge) are convicts and are being forced to fight, and even if you were a regular soldier you would need to let of some steam occasionally.

ifi i remember correctly we have seen 3 cinematics with terran soldiers

one was the "i love you sarge" moment we all remember so well., but those two were local militia and not marines. The second one we have seen was during the zerg campaign aboard the sscience vessel. But those soldiers werent on a mission, so beer should be allowed.
and the third one was in the prologue of brood war, but in that one the soldier was pretty professional

Those guy were on a mission, thats why they had the cold fusion bomb, to destroy the station if they found signs of infestation.

if you cant take the cinematics, then dont watch them. No one forces you to watch the cinematics, just press the escape button.

You just described the Protoss there. As ijffdrie stated, you've got to understand that all you've seen are backwater militia. Anyone criticising the troops aboard the Science Vessel should remember that they detonated the fusion bomb, killing themselves for the good of the mission. You want more commitment? :p

Anyways, it would be boring if everyone except the Zerg had this straight-faced hard edge attitude to war. The great distinction between the races is their culture and attitude to war. The Terran campaign is also the first campaign you play - the humans, up until that point, have been completely dominant. Of course they're going to be cocky and relaxed... they don't yet appreciate the enemy they're up against.

Any deviation from standard Terran character would be unfortunate, I think, although it would be nice to have more glimpses of military training (like the marine suit-up).

Yes they were. Their mission was to destroy the Amerigo, and they were carrying a bomb. Drunkenness at a time like that is thoroughly unprofessional.

Yes they were drie, the guy asked if they were really gonna blow the place. Then the other guy said, "only if we see a zerg.".

Well im going to say the same thing as other users already said this troops are forced to battle because most of this soldiers are prisoners and criminals they are not soldiers trained by a real army general they have just armor weapons and no experience they just fight for nothing.

I think that is part of the reaper lore, not marines, they're in for life.

I think its part of both their lore, the Reapers are just made from men that the reinitialization process(becoming Marines) failed because they continued to kill when they werent supposed to and were sent back to Prison, where they now have a 2nd chance of becoming free by becoming Reapers(and doing what they do best, mass killing of anything thats in their way) and staying alive for a certain amount of time.
