How do I as Terren, defend against the invisible Protoss units? I am a noob and am new to the game, and nothing is worse then having my entire base destroyed in by a single invisible Protoss. I built the "detect invis" tower thing , but he walks right by it and I still can not target him. What am I missing? Thanks PS: Are there any books one can read to learn how to be a better strategist, or just watch video? PPS: Anyone have a link or reading material to see the building tree in which shows the sequence of things to build to unlock the next? (It came in the box with SC1, but it has been years and I am usually too busy trying to figure it out in game when I should already know this stuff)
The Dark Templar, as the invisble protoss unit is named, cant be attacked by the missile turret, and the sensor tower "sense" the unit, but it cant spot it and so forth. Remember to have normal units to attack the dark templars, since no detectors have direct attacks. Phoenix, thank you for your response. I had the sensor tower and a load of marines standing by it. He ripped through them all. Maybe I just need some practice at targeting him better once the sensor towers detect him and get my marines on him better. Thanks for the input, I will give it another shot.
The problem is you're building a sensor tower, not a missile turret. Sensor towers do not detect invisible units. Only missile turrets and the Raven, as well as the Orbital Command's scanner ability. Use any of the three!
Don't ravens detect invisible units? It's kinda like the new Science Vessel. IT's your mobile detector. Either that or scanner sweeps from orbital command centers EDIT : My bad for pretty much repeating what the last response said =) skipped it over cause it started out by talking sensor towers and turrets again
