Could they affect the cycle? What are their capabilities? What exactly do we know about them? Possible speculations as to what changes could terrazine gas bring on zerg or protoss
Well it's what the Terran use to turn Ghosts into Spectres, which are crazy awesome Ghosts. And I'm pretty sure the Xel'Naga used terrazine to speed up the evolution of the Protoss, and make them as crazy psychic as they are now. But someone would have to confirm the second. As I'm not sure where I read it. Maybe one of those books they have..
Actually yes. You can steal terrazine from the protoss in the campaign, and in 2009 you could make spectres in single-player. (Maybe you can't any longer, but they'll still be in the map editor. The spectre's portrait is used for an achievement, too.)
Cool portrait, are there any pictures of the actual unit in-game? I'd definitely like to see. As for terrazine and Spectres, one of the supporting cast/crew of the Hyperion is Gabriel Tosh, who is supposed to be a Spectre. I figure they'll factor in somehow.
I imagine he's a Spectre from the beginning. And that the novel "StarCraft: Ghost: Spectres" will be about how Tosh becomes one.
Er... couldn't find a more appropriate thread for this. So... why aren't they called specters? Interesting... Also, why do they wield gauss rifles that marines do? Why not those specialist rifles that ghosts do (or some variation of it)?
