My 1v1 strategy allows me to win against everything but Protoss fairly easy every time I play against Protoss in the Platinum division I lose. My rush of marines dies from the defence turrents (I don't know the name, I just recently joined this game a week ago) and any units they have waiting at the base in the case of a rush.

So, what is a good rush that works against Protoss?

I've never played Protoss before. So looking at the Replay it seems like I can destroy the power orbs and that will take out the turrents then take out the units?

First - yes protoss structures are powered by "pylons", which give supply + a small field of pylonic irrigation. Destroying one can sometimes take out multiple cannons sometimes. One of the best ways to deal with cannons are going around them with air units, perticularly with medivacs (which can drop your ground units). A second way is using seige tanks in seige mode which OUTRANGE the cannons and can pick them off from a distance, given that you have sight of them. Thirdly, sometimes you can just overwhelm him if he only has one or two, or if the cannons are badly arranged you can take advantage of terrans range and attack one cannon at a time. Finally, people that put cannons down generally have moments of weakness before the cannons are up. If you can attack them right then, it can often be decisive, but this is easier said then done.

Edit: forgot the funniest way to take out a dozen cannons. One nuke. It will cause your opponent to get so mad he will quit instantly.

Sometimes you don't even have to attack him. If you see 6 photon cannons, he spent 900 minerals on crap that can't move. Scout for stupid crap like void rays and DTs and using a reaper, a barracks (seriously), or scans, and take appropriate measures. Then since you have map control (he spent all his money on stuff that can't move), build another command center, upgrade to orbital command, and laugh at him while you're flooded with cash.

If you want to improve your rush, I suggest adding some mauraders to the mix which are far more effective against stalkers and photon cannons. You might also want to look at the upgrades from the tech lab if you want to win the game right then, they are very cost efficient but take awhile, I <3 stimpacks personally.

I also seem to lose to protoss a lot,i usually have 10 marines and 8 marauders (upgraded with shield for marines and the cannon that makes enemy movement slow for the marauders).as soon as i move in i am wasted by about 6 void rays.i had another 2 squads ready (double my original amount of soldiers) i get to their base and they have a hell of a lot of those photon cannons ready to meet my assualt.2 min later they fin me off by sending in 20 voidrays to atack my base.my missile turrents didn't stand a chance

I think everyone thinks their enemy's team is way overpowered. I play as protoss and I see things in other groups that are way overpowered all the time!

As for cannons...a good number of marauders will take them out...anything with added armor are good against them

I find getting concussive shells in your barracks' techlab, and about 4 marauders and a few marines, will really let you apply pressure in early game TvP. Send out this small force with one scv, poke at his base, kite his zealots using your concussive shells, and maybe do a bit of damage. Have the scv build a bunker outside his base, and load it with your surviving units. Protoss is officially contained. Expand, scout what he's building, counter it with your superior cashflow, and you're in a great position :)
