Terran, Theoretically the most powerful race?

Think about it, the protoss are pretty wiped out, their tech is great but not so vastly superior to terran that it makes a huge difference.

The terran, if not for the infighting, could have easily defeated both races. The terran have high technology capable of destroying worlds (What we saw for nukes are only tactical nukes... I mean we'd have to speculate that they would be able to create a weapon able to decimate a planet) Lets face it, They have great tech and great numbers, tech slightly less than protoss and numbers slightly less than zerg. If the humans got their act together they could, mop up char in one swoop, hell even pre-invasion aiur would fall.

 

But you have to think, trying to get a bunch of hard headed and seperate minded leaders to work together is half the battle.

 

The Terrans have taken some huge population losses. One of the most populated planets, Tarsonis, was demolished, and several other planets were struck by Zerg and forced to evacuate.

The Protoss have also taken massive losses.

I doubt Protoss vs Terran is that important in lore terms. The two sides virtually never clashed, and have little reason to do so.

This leaves the Zerg, who can grow, but who have a weaker leader now. (For instance, the Zerg forces on Aiur no longer replicate.)

 

The Zerg forces on Aiur can't replicate because if I remember correctly they've gone batsh*t insane.

 

I believe that for that to occur, theyre gonna have to create a cloning tech or mind controlling device to gather everyone, but even so, it would still be impossible to vaporize all zerg unless terrans find a way to create a weapon that stands out even more than nuke that will be able to crush an entire planet... maybe..

 

Nyet. The Protoss killed two Cerebrates on Aiur, but there were still so many Zerg on Aiur that the Protoss were forced to flee, and at least two Cerebrates followed them there. (Those were also killed.)

With the deaths of the Cerebrates, Kerrigan came to control the whole Swarm. However, it seems she can't quite handle the task of acting as an Overmind plus Cerebrates by herself, so she's not interested in increasing the number of minions under her control just yet. I have the 2 Shadow Hunter books but I haven't read them in a while and my memory is terrible.

Gotta re-read them again atleast once before SC2 comes out...

 

the zerg have been gone for 4 years and i imagine that theyve been... breeding/corrupting more units into there army

the terrans lost lotsa planets but have faired pretty well

the protoss got screwed over pretty badly and there probably the smallest race

and terran cant be the best race because of balance

 

Well honestly I mean terran, if equal in numbers to zerg on a battlefield... will win hands down, the only element that kept zerg around is the ability to rush... It put them on top but in all honesty they're a mere overglorified ant colony

 

Terran are nowhere near the most powerful race. The lore behind them says they went through a period of industrialization between the 2000s and 2500s. Their technology is powerful, but inefficient, and that's where Protoss gain the advantage. They've had the time to perfect their technology, and have developed technology that's a step above Terrans. As far as Zerg being a glorified ant colony, have you ever seen ants take down other bugs hundreds of times their size? It's pretty epic seeing some stag beetle or something be overrun by a few thousand ants, then picked apart to further the growth of the colony.

 

The protoss would have been alot more powerful if Zeratul and the dark templar had not broken off from the high templar. The fighting between those two factions of the protoss is very similar to what happened with the terrans and in turn weakened them substantially.

 

Errr really? The Terran are going pounded in StarCraft. The UED maybe, but the Terran's alone, no.

Protoss are superior, not vastly, but still superior. They have these things going for them in StarCraft 2:

Both Protoss factions joining, light and dark.
Digging up older more powerful weapons of war.

Besides, weren't the Protoss capable of glassing planets or some sort of thing like that? And isn't that what they did when SC started?

 

yes the protoss can incenerate entire planets, the terran are weakened by infighting.

i would have to say that the protoss are the most powerfull.

 

In StarCraft I (and Liberty's Crusade), it was implied that the Protoss need total air superiority over a planet before they can purify it. This pretty much puts purifying Char out of reach (10 billion Zerg).

In early Brood War, the Protoss lost their great fleets, so they couldn't pull off that maneuver anymore.

The Protoss purified Braxis (in Resurrection IV). This happened after Brood War, sometime before StarCraft II. I suspect it happened not too long after the Brood War ended, since Raynor seemed to still have a relationship with the Protoss, and (of course) they were using Brood War units.

 

Here we go again no they are not the toughest race infact they are the seccond in amount of troops, strength and command i bielieve that the protoss are the strongest wth their mother ship a special clocking abillity but then again the zerg are the biggest fleat and are most sucessfull against protoss who are most powerful against Terran and terran own the zerg so they are all equal execpt Terran seem to rule the sky and just not the ground

 

The Protoss won in Starcraft 1. The Zerg won in Brood War

So the Terran (I don't know which faction) will win in Starcraft 2

 

It's hard to argue that the Terran race is the most powerful.

You could say that in the end, if the Terrans were to spread across the stars and become an even larger force, then yes they would be the most powerful. Thats the general way alot of sci-fi stories paint mankind, and a reason for why humans get attacked.

I don't think you can say the Protoss won in StarCraft, each race has it's victories and defeats. I will say that overall the Zerg do come out ontop in BW, but that was four years ago. The Dominion is stronger now. And if you want to get technical about it, odds are the Terrans will have another large war against eachother with the build-up of Umojan Protectorate and Kel-Morian Combine. That war is really going to weaken the Terrans as a whole.
