I think there is more to terrans that we don't know about, especially with our user friendly terran interface cyborg girl that's been for us since brood war, teaching us the basics of SC..

Anyways, has anyone ever wondered, what's her name? Why is there a cyborg female governing all terran activities be UED, Mengsk, or Raynors scavengers. Terrans' technology is indeed industrious as they even had former cyborg pilots controlling support units like the S.vessel back then. But most of all, I am really interested to know what's the story of this cyborg face that we have been seeing for more than 10 years now. (She even managed to make the cut for SC2).

Any info about these interface supports will help. tnx (same goes for the zerg - who's eye is that? I'm sure kerrigan had zeratul disposed of all the overminds didn't she?)

That eye is the Overmind. It's at the center of that huge organic, erm, thing.

As for the cyborg: just more efficient then a computer. A wiki search should provide more info, though. Try starcraft.wikia.com

By the way, the old cyborg looked way better then the SC2 version. Way better.

Agreed, the old cyborg looked better. I've been wondering why never cyborgs wouldn't have skin.

They're Adjutants; the closest thing they'd have to a name is a production number. Also, they don't "govern" the actions of all Terrans. It's more like Dexter's Lab, where Dexter would usually say "Computer, do this." or "Computer, do that." The Adjutant is just carrying out actions that humans don't have the time/energy do to themselves.

I'd also like to point out that Adjutants may not be cyborgs, based on observation of the newest animated portrait (the one where the face opens up). If adjutants are cyborgs, then I'd guess they're something akin to the Aurora Units from the Metroid series, albeit more primitive.

Eh? The Aurora units in Metroid primitive?! The Mother Brain was sort of an Aurora unit. As most people know, the Mother Brain directed pretty much everything that the Space Pirates did. They could handle immense amounts of information. In my opinion, the Adjudants are primitive.

Also: were the Aurora units partially human?
(Only got the chance to play the first part of the game so far.)

Read carefully Aurora - I'm calling the Adjutants primitive, not the Aurora Units.

think it's more of just like an operator, only mechanical.

Like back in the day when you talked on the phone, you dialed the operator.

She is better in SC1 than SC2. Blizzard is looking for easy things. What are the portraits of the Destructible rocks ? Even the Xel'Naga Watch Tower ? Her, this cyborg lady.

Oooh yes, just wondered : will there be creatures in the maps ? Bengalaas, etc ... They shouldn't get the portrait of the cyborg lady too. LOL no, i know they have their own portrait. What a chance !

Rocks and Watch Towers are doodads, they aren't in the building category. Those get portraits instead of wire models.

It's not like they've worked out every portrait to perfection anyway. They're just using the Adjutant because the others are still in development.

sogeking u do know that not all of the portraits are finalized yet and sometime they use placeholder portraits right?
Blizz is more focused on the game play aspect than the portraits which could later after all of the game play is almost balanced. They aren't being lazy, just practical

I agree with you dear MyWifeForAiur. They are focused on the gameplay. After all they will finalize the visual aspects of this game. However I think they will not change this ... We'll see

PS : Frankly, I don't care if they do it or not. :)

I just assumed they were cyboborgs or androids that acted as a sort of control interface, situation analysis, and similar support like EVA in the C&C games.

I think she is just like the main computer in the movies i-robot or Terminator 4.
I would not say it's a skynet. But it is a central computer with a humaniod interface and access to all the Terran databanks. And I think it is female simply cause there is not too many female units/beings in SC2. And that is one way to put more of them in.

Talk about necro'ing. But to answer the original post, the adjutants are no longer used for the watch towers. (Those have their own "portraits" now... and unique sound, too.)
