I've seen some pro players do this tactic with a building which involves them flying it over their Marines early game so the enemy can't click any individual unit thus losing fight time and the battle then shifts into favour of the Terran player.
Do any of you think this will still be used/used more in Sc2?

Hmm... well seeing how it's 3d, i doubt it becuase a player can just rotate the camera. HOWEVER, becuase it was such a useful thing in SC, I think it's possible they may incorperate that idea into a unit. Perhaps a "shrouder" of sorts that causes a fog under units, so the enemy units can only target the shrouder.

this is the same thing as the zergs shrouding with the overlords and ever with a lot of mutalisks (Mainly on money maps)

Cept a building covers a larger area.

the buildings would also be more expensive, and are "slightly" if any slower

So in effect its a substitute of speed and covering area. The tactic benifits Terran better tho cuz Buildings have more hp and can be repaired.

true, the units i guess just matter depending on the race you are zerg gets overlord, terran gets buildings, and now im going to have to find one for the protoss, maybe the carrier?

They rotated the camera quite a few times during the announcement video so if it remains "shrouding" wouldn't work. However I do like the idea of a shrouder unit, only it's almost exactly like a cloaking field.

after seeing the video, unless they create a shroud unit, the blocking technique is obsolete :(

The tactic didn't work in SC1 against someone more than once as it was too easy to ambush and buildings cost too much to lose. In SC2 it will likely be nerfed due to the 3D engine.

The shroud idea sounds a lot like an arbitor,

yes the arbiter is the shroud unit, but with thew new pivoting camera the barracks or overlord block will not work

Or what about a taunt unit, that taunts every few seconds, so the units attack it instead of the other units? Then, the enemy has to micro his units every time the unit taunts. It'd be the ssame basic idea as a "shrouder' unit.

ZeR[g]LiNg ever played WC3? It looks like you are describing a MG :D
Lore-wise how should it work? Psi-emitters works only on Zerg, and Giving ghost another ability is too much IMO.
And all units do not need an ability do they? This isn't Warcraft in Space, and I don't want it to be to micro-heavy.

He meant that the Rax was above the player's own units, not letting the other player focus fire and stuff.

it seems that a shrouder has been created in the Mothership. the MS ow has an ability to make a certain area invisible instead of a time bomb.

No, it has both. The cloak works like the Arbiter's cloak.
