-Terrain Types Ocean Platform I always thought a terrain set would be really cool if it had texture like the space platform on ocean but very close to the ocean floor so that the bottom layer has waves crashing against it at certain points, seaweed and other alien oceanic plant life could also grow on the sides and such, have like certain areas were the ground is a large window, that units can walk on seeing the ocean underneath. Swamp This is cool i was thinking have like very droopy trees but not WCIII swamp but have it more like Dagobah in Starwars, maybe even have it so when units walk into the swamp it is up to there knees, and have different depths of swamp, maybe with protoss shields as a effect for the knee swamp level the shield will look as if the water is being pushed back around the shield, this would be a really cool effect for zealots or immortals, or really any protoss unit. Protoss Space Patform I think this would be a really shiny and heavy protoss architecture really letting us look into how they would make it, i picture it similar to the Death Stars surface, with protoss smoothness and colors aswell as the blue crystals and energys passing threw it. -Mapping Capability's Combining Terrain sets I always thought about how in Starcraft I you always had the specific tilesets you had to use i know, you cannot make your own easily but i think it would add another level of creativity if you could say combine tilesets, and blizzard make it so the textures do work together, unless its space and ground which you cannot do, but why not make a map with a continent and then a ocean around it with various ocean platforms floating on the surface or even the continent could have dessert, forest, and snow parts. This could be another map size with another set amount of players specific for this size, if you wanted all this, but why shouldnt all these texture sets blend together? note this was shown in the first video as the space platform was built onto a asteroid like texture. Space Platforms You may have noticed that in the first gameplay video of the protoss it was on a space platform and that in the background was not just space but planets, and asteroid, and such. well wouldnt it be cool if you had a choice of what planet or other picture was behind these from a list of premade ones for map use, ones with shakuras, aiur, even earth?
yeah new terrain maps would make the game more interesting, when i play other rts maps i like the idea how the games are usually always random maps
that would be fairly difficult to do for blizzard, at least for starcraft II since there maps require a certain amount of balance to be any fun, those are usually i think turn base games.
I think that all of those suggestions are great! I've always wanted to mix different terrain sets! Huge maps where it shifts between snow, grass and desert terrain would feel epic. owerup: *EDIT* Lol, I already powered you up resently, I'll have to wait a few hours.

That swamp water shield displacement would be one of the coolest features, but I imagine it might hinder some machines. and I agree with everything else, but I would like some clarifications on the ocean platform, is it on the water, or is it in low orbit, over the water? EDIT: oops I read too fast, and it does say that it is above it. well than how about it being on the water, like it was derilict and couldn't manage to stay in automated orbit, and was pulled in by the gravity, crashing into the waves.
i think the ocean platform should be under the ocean, protected by a shield, and if you send a flying unit into the open part(you know like magma, ocean or space) you see the fkying unit create a ripple in the shield like if any of you watch stargate, the effect when someone steps through the stargate
