Found on SC2 Pod's wikibase. Either those guys have connections, or I missed something big in the past week.

I'd like to see something along the lines of what the dragoon had. That was a crippled Protoss. This is just a geriatric Protoss in a futuristic zimmer frame.

I'm with Kuvasz on this. It's not horrible but could be a lot better.

i could not tell what was in the dragoon portrait. Can someone...maybe somehow, outline the dragoon portrait?

Anywayz, if that is the immortal portrait, i say the protoss dude is not crippled/hurt enough.

Occasionally, AcE, the blue fluid sinks down to clearly show the Dragoon face. Even without that, you can clearly see a Protoss guy looking to the right with a tube in his temple and an eye goggle.

First I was gonna respond with how that's so not an Immortal, but then I noticed the tubes. But it's too subtle. The guy is not messed up enough.

It would be cool if it was the outside of the immortal unit (with it moving around glowing eyes ect) but then in a transformer like transformation opened up to reveal the unit (like in this picture).

I'm heavily doubting that's one of Blizzard's renders. It looks really low quality compared to theirs.

As for what the portrait's actually of... I'd prefer it to be of the Immortal's 'face', itself. And by that I mean, the face of the construct, not of the cripple inside, kinda like the Marauder's. Everything about the Immortal is supposed to represent strength, pure, undiluted, noble strength, and for that, showing the machine, itself, is best.

If this is indeed Blizzards, it changes the lore for the Immortal quite a bit.

If you look at the edges, it IS the Immortal, with the face opened up. But that means that the tube is the only life support this guy gets. In fact, it looks downright comfy in there.

Oooh. I like the cutaway view Blizzard did.

Sadly, it doesn't look like some veteran Protoss. Looks more like they just threw Average Joe McZealot in there. If they gave him some scars... make him missing an arm... something that says, "Hey I died or was near death and they put me in one of these a while ago, then they upgraded my Dragoon to survive or do better in battle because Zerg messed up Aiur and our temple for making these."

ahh alright...IF they want to stick with that portrait, i hope they will make the protoss veteran atleast more "scar/injured" like.

or really old protoss, to show us that they are the last dragoons kinda thing.

I have a trivial question here... how does the protoss produce an immortal??? do they have to look for dying candidates and stuff them inside that blue test tube??

The Immortals are already produced, they are just warped in when payed for.
When the Dragoon temple on Aiur was overrun by Zerg almost all existing Dragoons were upgraded into Immortals. The upper body of the machine is something the Protoss know how to construct, but the knowledge of how to construct the legs and lower body of an Immortal and everything inside them has been lost on Aiur.
That means no more Immortals can be made since there's no legs to attach the torso to.

Dragoon was cooler, body submerged in fluids. Would be cool if the Immortal was just a torso and head or something; lost its legs in combat, or have only one arm or eye or something.
