Super Mario Galaxy! Game of the year or what?

I was just wondering who else here is excited about Galaxy...as much as I am. I would consider both Starcraft and Mario 64 to be two of my favorite games of the past 10 years or so. Anyone else waiting with baited anticipation? ;D

Welcome to the forums. Personally, the two games I want are Super Smash Brawl and SC 2. Mario Galaxy looks cool, but I've never cared for the Mario franchise.

lets look at it this way

if you have a gamecube and NOT have ssbm, youre screwed

if you have a computer and NOT have any version of starcraft, youre screwed

 

lol, I agree. Super Smash is the most popular game for the game cube, thats why they are doing their absolute best to make brawl perfect. From what I've seen, the new ss will be the best in the series. I love the new character they're adding, as well as the thrid parties; currently sonic and snake, though one or two more will be added.

 

SMG (=O) was good....But game of the year goes to......Bioshock!!

 

Yea I loved Bioshock I hope it wins...second place should go to SMG based on what I know and have demoed.

This month my game purchases are as follows: Super Mario Galaxy, Assassins Creed (PS3 version) and Mass Effect (another GOTY contender!!)

I would sacrifice all of them just for Starcraft 2.

I plan to get SMG, and I have no doubt that it will be a great game, but game of the year...? I'm doubtful. There have been a lot of good games this year.

Am I hearing right on the delay for Super Smash Brothers Brawl? February you say? NOES!!!! In any case, Super Mario Galaxy really looks neat and makes a happy (and welcome) change towards the common universe of the Mario franchise.

You heard right, it got moved back 2 months. They needed more time to get everything to work right in the game, and to make sure all the codeing is correct and with as few bugs as possible.

 

I'm being so doubtful that SMG is going to become the game of the year but i guess it goes to a different game....probably Assassin Creed/CoD4 but seriously i'm really going for Super Smash Bro. Brawl definitely but SMG looks fun and it looks great but to be honest it is same old in space but i really do like Mario and i liked Paper mario: Thousand Year Door but i'm aiming for SC2 aswell
Next year i'm aiming for Smash Bros. brawl, SC2 and many more....

 

i have heard that SMG is gonna be the best game of all time
it beat the legend of zelda ocarina of time which was previously the best game of all time
mario games are good but saying the best game of all time is a bit much
the game shud be good tho
i am in australia and they havent released it yet ;(
