With the forums recently remade I think we have the chance to help mold the forums to suit us best by prodding the admin as he works (thank you) so I figure we need a thread for leaving suggestions for how to make the forums better.

Let the suggestions requests and groveling begin:
In our profile we can select out aim msn etc ids I think if at all possible there should be a slot of XFire id for those of us who use it. This is a game forum why not show data on a gaming messenger?

Beyond that All I ask for is the ability to edit polls once created and buttons to delete and lock our own threads though I suspect those are on the way

We need a "While you were typing, someone else has posted a reply" message. I find it annoying that I have to go back and edit my post so it doesn't sound completely out of whack.

i know VB has spoiler tags

    so.... spoiler tags please

    spoiler tags work by putting
    blabla
    then the message appear as
in a box, if you click it, the message would appear, a little thing to spice up the forums

I'm not sure what kind of spoilers we'd have but it sounds cool. I also want HTML codes.

You can now delete, lock, and move your own threads.

The Xfire implementation is a lot more difficult than you think, so I'll see what I can do there...

Also, not sure how to do the "Message already posted" but I will keep looking.

Lastly, I've seen the spoiler thing somewhere in here I just gotta find it again. :D

    Cheers!

    @ BirdofPrey. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Anyway, there needs to be a proper 'New Replies' link like there used to, to show all the unread replies in topics that you've posted in that are deleted once viewed. The current New Posts link works, but it's a bit odd. Some bold, others unbold, some you've posted in, others you haven't, some you haven't read, others you have. Yeah, the old 'New Replies' was great.

It seems that all topics are automatically marked as read when you log out, if that's true it should change.

Spoiler tags will be mostly usefull when SC2 comes around with it's campaign

I don't think spoilers will be particularly useful, not that I'm saying it's useless, for when it's released and the campaign comes out. My advice is that someone shouldn't visit a topic on the StarCraft2 storyline. I guess it would still be brought up in other topics, but then there'd have to be two conversations going at once. One normal and the other hidden by the spoilers.
I guess spoilers will still be useful though, and they wouldn't be limited to StarCraft2 related topics.
Just quickly I'd like to add that I trust everyone here has enough sense not to make any threads like 'Raynor's dead!' or 'Tassadar comes back to life!' after they've just finished the campaigns. While both of those titles would bring a tremendous joy to my heart, I'd rather find out for myself.

I wouldn't be so sure. We've already seen some big spoilers for other games on this forum
Then again, people may be more considerate when it comes to SC2 (if they treasure their lives that is)

Please PLEASE make the forums variable width. I have a widescreen monitor and when I am running fullscreen there is unused space on each ised of the threads and when the window is less that 2/3 the width of my screen the edges get cut off forcing me to sidescroll. Sidescrolling is BAD and is in the list of bad site formatting practices

See how it stretches when the window is resized? Make the foum theme you are making able to do that.

too bad I dont use firefox. IE07 works great for me.

Now that I finally got my internet configuration fixed(it was going to the wrong server) I have no problems with my internet.

I think the forums should have:

    -Easy to navigate forums/pages
    -A good shop/trade system
    -A fair mineral system
    -ANIMATED AVATARS!!11!!1!ONE!!1

I would like to have a battle system for the pets, they need to have more importance than just for show.

Not sure if vB would support that though, or what amount of coding that would take.

The problem with that Ursa is that not everyon has firefox or a screen with that resolution.

Besides that not everyone browses with their wiondow at full screen.
My screen is running at 1680x1050 and the forum is cut off while the window is still rather large.

It does not matter what is BEST for viewing a webpage good design dictates you should be able to view a web-page regardless of browser and resolution

Also other than that follow the link. That forum is also vB and is perfectly viewable under IE in 800x600. No reason this forum can't be
