I've recently purchaced SC2 and love it! But a couple of things have me stumped. I have no intrest in playing online ( it just isn't my thing ) and occasionally have no internet access at all. I assumed that if I wished I could play offline at will, but have found that the game demands that I access the battlenet before it will allow me to play at all! I have regestered the game and have a battlenet account, and was led to believe that after doing this I could play offline at will. This is not the case. I have to go on battlenet long enough to log on (or for the game to acknowledge a connection or whatever) or it simply keeps asking me to do so, and won't allow me to play at all. Once I have made that brief connection I can disconnect from the internet and play in offline mode with no problems. However, if I shut off the game and restart it I must again connect to the internet before I'm allowed to play. Does my game have a glitch or is this always the case. Also, I have completed the terran portion of the game on normal difficulty (all 26 missions succesfully) and would love to try the Zurg or Protos campaigns but I don't know how to access them. I the original SC after completing the terran missions you could move to the zurg missions, then to the protos. Is that not the case with SC2? Please have mercy and help this poor stunned terran!
the zerg and protoss campaign will be available later as separate expansion packs. yes i think you need to connect all the time to be able to play the game. give the online matchups a shot...you might find it better than you think!
Though you don't like playing online matches, you might as well stay connected to the internet when you play the game. Just being online wont mean you have to play with other people and other people wont just randomly search up someone and start talking to them. Besides, the achievments you complete wont register and keep with you if you are not connected to bnet. The least you could do is collect those. And you do know that there are online games that are just stupid little mass and send games, and other things besides just the normal battling and such. Like stated before the 2 other campaigns will be released in expansions like SC1, had SC:BW. I think they are set for 2014(Zerg) and 2016(Protoss).
