To defeat a triple attack you have to have a triple defense, keep your army mobile and most importantly have vision on as much of the map as possible so you can see an attack coming and gather together with your allies to defend whoever is being hit.

Do not focus too much on static D or you wont have enough of an army to go help out your allies when they are attacked.

Never go with a build order that has weak early game power if you are spawned in a position that can be attacked right away. You're pretty safe if you are in a position where the enemy has to go through one of your allies to get to your base by ground, but remember you should be ready to go help them out when they get attacked, don't go full econ no army just because you are safe.

If you are getting ganged up on and there's just no way you can survive because your allies can't save you, keep some workers alive (and fly your buildings if terran) and hope you'll get a chance to rebuild. The game isn't lost just because one player gets taken out. Not saying you shouldn't gg though if it's pretty clearly hopeless.

Play as if your allies expect everything of you, but don't expect anything of your allies. Don't assume a terran ally will save enough energy for scans or that the toss with a big army nearby will pay enough attention to the minimap to notice an enemy army is heading towards your base and go to help you defend. At the same time always check up on your allies situations and do everything you can to support them when you get the opportunity.

Don't be shy about giving your allies advice either, like suggesting they build more workers if they have low saturation or that they change their tactics if the enemy is countering their units easily.

Do not focus on any single enemy when attacking or harassing, look for the ones most vulnerable to your strategy. For example you may have enough mutas to take out the terrans turrets that are guarding his mineral line, but you'll be much better off going and attacking the protoss player who has no anti-air at all near his workers. And once the enemies rally to the protoss players defense, let him be and go find something else that's un-defended.

IMO zerg are the best multiplayer team defense. Bane/speedlings can be had very early, do a good job at softening tier 1 group attacks for a rape-stomping, and are highly mobile (vs common towering/walling off strategies of Pro-Terran).

Additionally if your team plans on doing an early 3-4 person attack, banelings are excellent there as well.

They are just hands down the best early support unit in the game for either defending or conducting a rush, imo. This is particularly good when it is essentially a crapshoot as to whether your partners will be pulling their own weight or not. 2x hatch bane/speedlings is how I abused my way into the top platinum (pre-diamond) for 3v3 beta anyway. Hopefully as the game ages it will be less of a crapshoot, at least in the upper leagues (diamond/platinum), but until then as a flexible "carry" strat capable of quickly taking on multiple lesser skilled opponents (vs say a tech based strat which is more likely to get countered before you can cripple multiple people) seems like a good idea.

Pretty simple, you do a three person attack on the other team before they can do one on you.

    gg :D

In most 3v3 and 4v4 games you can count on at least 1 of your teammates being a complete f****** idiot. Consider yourself lucky if its only 1 that is. Until you know that there is some skill on your side do your best to pump out that tier 1 army. I wouldn't worry about anything else until you know you can work as a team and your team can play the game. Sometimes you'll never get passed that and yes you will die. Sometimes however your team thinks the same way and instead of it happening to you your team is doing it to someone else.

You can't pick your team in quick match league games so you keep trying and hope for the best.
