I really got in to it because of the old-school sprite graphics. I'm making a game with my friend similar to Pokémon's graphics and such, so playing Terraria helped me get some feel of how sprite gameplay works. ...So my friend gifted me Terraria 3 days ago. I've logged 54 hours of playtime in Steam. When I close my eyes, I see my character mining. It's more addicting than Minecraft ever was. I already have Night's Edge. I really hope they plan on adding more and more content on the difficult end of the spectrum.
