So I've seen people talk about gansta rap, semi-gansta rap, rock, and punk. What I want to know though if there is anybody here that listens to stoner rock. I just love how it mixes the 60's/70's beat with the modern groove. So how about it, anybody here listen to stoner rock?
I would classify some of my stuff as such. Wolfmother Kasabian (Some songs) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
I'll have to check those out, currently the only stoner rock groups, whose stuff I have are: Unida, Kyuss, and Queens of the Stone Age. I manly listen to Queens of the Stone Age. p.s. I think Kyuss was the first stoner rock band if I have my knowledge right
I would say Pornos for pyros, Queens of the stone age, Beatles, Zeppelin, and kick it with some rolling stones or just lay around and watch tv and raid the cabnets whatever's good
i listen to a type of 90s westcoast rap called g funk that has this hypnotizing groove and multi-layered synthesizers. you know, the type of rap music that screeches and grinds. epitomized by dr. dre's chronic album.
Yeah s far it seems that stoner rock is so obscured. It makes me sad to know that such a wonderful genre for feeling a good groove.
In my opinion stoner rock is the same as classic rock. The doors, The Who, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Jimmi Hendrix...every thing from the 60's pretty much. To me there is little better than smoking on a rainy day while listening to The Wall with a friend or two.
Out of those only the Beatles I don't like. You are right though that listening to stoner rock just makes you wan to lean against a wall and chill. Your alright in my books Fox.
