Starcraft2Forum.org BlizzCon Tickets Contest

BlizzCon 2008 is coming up on October 10-11 and tickets go on sale on August 11th. But at StarCraft2Forum.org we want you, the SC2 fan, to be able to go free of charge. That's why we're giving away some tickets to help you get there.




We're holding a contest to find out who the most dedicated SC2 fans are and we'll be giving those users tickets to the event. Three tickets will be raffled off to the most "deserving" members. So here's how the contest will work:



1. You must be a registered member with 20 posts or more to be eligible.




2. You MUST attend the event to receive your tickets. If you don't come, you don't get them. No winning and selling your tickets! You must provide your own transportation to Santa Ana (Anaheim), California.




3. In order to enter the raffle you must have a minimum of 10 contest points. Each point will get you one raffle ticket. So that means you must have a minimum of 10 raffle tickets to enter! That's 10 chances to win.




4. There are a few ways in which you can earn tickets to enter into the raffle. Those ways are:


-Digging or Stumbling an SC2Forums.org article - 1 ticket


-Referring a user to the forum who registers and posts at least 10 times (no spam) - 6 tickets
-Earning a reputation point - 2 tickets
-Writing a tutorial that isn't deleted - 4 tickets
-Submitting a Starcraft article following the tutorial guidelines successfully - 6 tickets
-Receiving a Thank You from a Moderator for a good post - 4 tickets
-Buying a Starcraft2Forum.org T-shirt - 10 tickets




5. To enter, submit a Private Message to Joneagle_X with a list of and links to all of your achievements that count for tickets. The raffle will be held on August 25th!

What about holding a contest for a period of time?
How about past tense achievments, are they aloud?

 

The passport is not a problem for me. But.... you know.... the personal questions the US embassy asks to you. lol

No, mainly because I have no time, and that it's expensive. I have money, but not for that kind of event. Too bad because I wished I could go there. Paris is just at 3 hours from me, but I didn't go there. No time because I work. Doh! Silly job !

I just wanna clarify which Items are retroactive since some of use hav already submitted articles and tutorials as well as been thanked by mods

 

User referrals and reputation points are retroactive.

(HINT: ALWAYS BE RECRUITING REFERRALS THEY WILL COME IN HANDY IN FUTURE)

Everything else is NOT retroactive.

i would love to go, but its a bit far for me, using Google map, its about 570 miles, 8 hours and 33 minutes to 10 hours and 10 minutes. then there is the price of gas getting there. and then there is food and getting a place to stay.

but gearvOsh, the adim. of SC2Armory says he will go, he says its about a 30 minute drive for him. lucky guy, that he is.

 

Ack, I won't bother participating as I would not be able to go! Sounds cool though.

 

You guys realize how much the stuff that you receive at the event is worth, right? It could pay for quite a long trip...

Hey, so when are you going to start "fully sponsoring" forumers? Imagine the website attraction and excitement if you were offering an all expenses paid trip to Anaheim for Blizzcon. Everyone on the internet would be drooling over this website!!

Maybe you could sponsor a couple advertisements on the site? The level of traffic that that sort of contest would drum up would more than pay for a couple plane tickets for a couple lucky people.

 

We'll see. I gave an airline a call earlier today.

If anyone knows anyone who works for an airline (that might be able to hook us up) let me know.

 

I have a question--What do you mean by "Stumbling or digging articles" from sc2.org?

@ Jon: I use to be a Flight Attendant for United Airlines but got laid off in all the cutbacks....Man I wish I was still one I'd give you oneof my buddy passes

 

Jon, please make the required amount of posts higher. Say 100. We have people joining and spamming to 20, just to be elegible. They have no other interest in the site.
