In the old Confederacy, terran marines were mostly criminals or rebels who had undergone mandatory neural resocialization. Freed from any previous allegiances or ideologies, these fearless soldiers stood ready to defend Confederate interests with their lives but exhibited an annoying tendency toward petty larceny, vandalism, and occasional cannibalism. Confederate authorities were unable to requisition enough reliable troopers in this way, and eventually recruiters turned to a new source of fresh meat for the grinder.

The obscure planet of Azeroth was found to harbor a dizzying selection of humans, mutants, and aliens in a state of perpetual superstition and conflict. The most physically imposing of these warrior races were the so-called 'tauren,' an anthropomorphic bovine genotype with super-human stamina, overpowered racial combat abilities, and bizarrely well-developed horticultural skills.

While most tauren were satisfied with their agrarian culture and primitive existence, the Confederacy was able to lure away large numbers of young bulls for a life of adventure and violence along the galactic rim. Other tauren referred to these adventurers as 'mad cows,' and they were ostracized from the rest of their kine. The newly created tauren marines didn't care--they got neat-looking armor and big guns to own everyone else with. These beefy new soldiers are now an integral part of the Confederate military, and have managed to horn in on the roles traditionally filled by firebats and other infantry units.

Meh who would fall for that? They could've been a bit more imaginative with something feasible. Nice find though.

ps how often do you check the site for updates? o_O

I wonder if they are really going to make it
I mean, look under one of the pics it says "There is a cow level"
Is there going to be one in SC2? That'd be freakin' awesome!

Also the Tauren Marine makes a great adition to level editor

ED: lol are they removing it already?

Lol, it seemed to do around 50+ damage :D
In the clip where they arrived with Drop Ships, I noticed how one of the Taurens used Stomp or something (perhaps). :p There was a strange purple special effect around it at one time anyways.

They tear through marines like hot knife through butter and now they're gone :( Though I'm confident that they'll be in the editor. Wonder if Murlok will make it as well?

I love the lightning effects they had no their backs, one of the best looking units so far ;D

They've already made the model and animations, so I'm sure it'll be available in the Map Editor. They've got no reason to spend all that time on it and then leave it out, and they've been known to have completely irrelevant models in their Map Editor like the Hydralisk, Zergling, Marine but mainly the Space Orc in WarCraftIII. It'll be an awesome unit for some novelty maps.
Haha, I though that too. That purple distortion is actually the Marauder's area of effect attack. You can see that there are tonnes of Marines and Marauders in the base and if you look closely you can see that the Marauder's fire a projectile that explodes in the purple explosion.

By "make it" I meant the cow level in SC2, not the tauren marine model
I'm pretty sure they wouldn't waste such awesome model and leave it out of editor.

wow! the details are awesome. check out the close up look of the terran tauren marine with the barracks on the background. i hope the terran marine also gets the quality details just like the tauren marine has.

seeing how cool it would be if the terran gets a big semi mech power suit marine just like the tauren marine, i can't wait to see the marauder in action and unit update on sc2.com. ^^

i think the marine would look more badass if they had an electrical powered bayonet just like the tauren marine have. ^^
